1912 Midland Metal Spinners was founded by

George Cadman, who was then 65 years old, as

a metal holloware manufacturing company, in St.

Mark’s Street, Wolverhampton. They later moved

into the Tower and Fort Works in Pelham Street,

which ultimately gave rise to the famous Tower

brand name.

1937 Tower exhibited some of their latest holloware

designs at the British Industries Fair. As you can

see from the original poster, their stand No. A410

must have been a great sight as it promoted their

“Beautiful, inexpensive, untarnishable Plate, at

prices all can afford to pay”.

1961 Tower became one of the largest

manufacturers of aluminium holloware, electric

kettles, tea pots and other household articles with

over 1,000 employees.

1974 Russell Hobbs took ownership of the

expanding Tower brand.

Alfresco dining made easy with the Ceramic Stone Coated Electric Sauté Pan

detachable power cord, throw in your ingredients

and get cooking. The guesswork is taken out of

preparation too thanks to the indicator light which

goes out whenoptimum cooking temperature

is reached letting you grill your meat, fish or

vegetables to perfection.

BEFORE FIRST USE

• Remove your appliance from the packaging.

• Do not use any aggressive detergents, brushes with metal or nylon bristles or sharp objects such as knives or spatulas for cleaning the unit.

• Your appliance is now ready for normal use.

Before Connecting The Power Supply:

Dry the inner and outer surface of the appliance with dry cloth before use, especially the plug and the pedestal to avoid electricity shock.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE:

1. Insert the temperature regulator to the sauté pan body; make sure it is fully connected otherwise the temperature rise will be affected, and the temperature regulator will be damaged because of overheating.

2. Turn the temperature regulator dial to the off position before connecting the power.

3. Connect the power supply, turn the temperature regulator dial clockwise, and the indicator lamp will illuminate.

4. You can adjust the temperature according to your needs during cooking.

5. It will take approximately 5-10 minutes to preheat the pan. Once the indicator lamp goes out, the pan is preheated and you can begin cooking.

6. Turn the regulator knob clockwise. And the heat will go from OFF to Maximum

7. Turn the regulator knob counter-clockwise, and heat will go from Maximum to the OFF.

Caution: Do not cover the pan with the lid when heating up the cooking oil.

Glass Lid:• To assemble the glass lid, screw the

plastic knob to the glass lid, using the supplied screw.

• The vent on the glass lid allows condensation from the steam to escape, and prevents a build-up of dirt and grease.

• Use the glass lid when cooking where possible, to reduce cooking time and prevent odours from escaping

Caution: Hot steam will escape from the vent in the lid.

Temperature Regulator Dial:

The temperature regulator is as easy to use as the controls on a hob top. Simply plug the power cord in, turn the dial to select from 1 to 5 and you’re ready to start cooking.

Regulator Guide

1 Low Heat Warm/Reheat

2 Medium-Low Heat soups, beans etc.

3 Medium Gentle Fry– egg dishes etc.

4 Medium-high Sauté

5 High Flash fry/ Stir fry

Tips:

• Always make sure all of your ingredients are prepped and chopped prior to turning the sauté pan on. Stir frying is a quick process so it’s important to have everything ready to throw into the sauté pan.

• Make sure all of your ingredients are chopped/sliced/diced to similar sizes. This helps everything cook at the same rate.

• Make sure the sauté pan is pre-heated and hot before you toss any food into it.

• Choose cooking oil that can handle the high temperature of the sauté pan. Groundnut oil or vegetable oil can reach much higher temperatures. Traditionally peanut oil is used for stir fry dishes.

• Make sure you do not over fill the sauté pan. When stir fry, try just making two portions at a time so nothing is overcooked and everything has that great stir fried taste.

• Serve stir fried foods immediately to retain their crisp texture and taste.

• When making fried rice, try using ‘overnight’ rice. Cook your rice the night before. Spread the rice out on a tray and leave overnight. If you don’t have time to cook and then leave the rice overnight, you can put it in the freezer for half an hour before using it to make fried rice.

• Add oil gradually, rather than pouring it all in at once.

4 RECIPES

Garlic Crusted King Prawns

Ingredients400g King Prawns¼ tsp. Salt¼ tsp. Corn Flour5 tbsp. Vegetable Oil5 Cloves Garlic, Finely Diced

Method1. First prepare the prawns. Remove the

heads and cut down the back of the prawn to devein.

2. Rinse the prawns under the water and sit them in a sieve to allow them to dry as much as possible.

3. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil with the sauté pan on a medium heat, and stir-fry the garlic for around 30 seconds. Turn the sauté pan off, removing the heat and remove the garlic. Leave any extra oil in the sauté pan.

4. Add ¼ tsp. cornflower and ½ tsp. of water (mixed together) drizzle over the prawns just before adding them to the sauté pan. Toss the prawns with your hands to cover them with the mixture. This works as a seal to keep the moisture into the prawns.

5. Reheat the sauté pan to a high heat and add 2 tablespoons of oil.

6. Add the prawns. Spread the prawns into a single layer as soon as they go into the sauté pan. This helps them sear nicely. Flip them over so that both sides are perfectly seared. After about 30 seconds, stir fry the prawns. Add the garlic back into the sauté pan and mix.

7. Once everything is coated, switch off the heat and serve.

Egg Fried Rice

Ingredients200g Long Grain White Rice (Washed)4 tbsp. Vegetable Oil5 Eggs1 tsp. Finely Diced Ginger, Sugar½ tsp. Salt¼ tsp. Ground White Pepper1 tsp. Light Soy Sauce¼ Dark Soy Sauce2 Spring Onions (Chopped)80g Cashew Nuts

Method1. Cook the rice on a high heat. Once you

have brought the rice to a boil, reduce the heat to low, cover the rice and cook for 10 – 15 minutes. Once the rice has cooked, allow it to cool, cover and chill overnight.

2. Prepare your cashews by frying them for a couple of minutes in oil, until they are golden brown.

3. Beat 3 of the eggs in a bowl, with the salt and 1 tsp. of oil.

4. Heat 1 tbsp. of oil in the sauté pan on a high heat. Add the eggs and scramble for around 20 – 30 seconds. Remove the softly cooked egg and set aside.

5. Add 2 more tbsp. of oil to your sauté pan. Fry the ginger and add the rice from the previous night. Using a spatula, move the rice around the sauté pan. Reduce the sauté pan to a medium heat and stir fry. Once the rice has heated through, add the pepper, sugar, a pinch of salt and the soy sauce, and stir fry for another minute, or until the rice is evenly coated.

6. Crack the remaining two eggs into a well in the centre of the rice. Beat them quickly in the sauté pan, and then mix them through the rice, and stir fry for a couple of minutes, until the egg is cooked.

7. Add the cooked egg that you set aside, along with the spring onions and cashew nuts, and stir fry for a further couple of minutes.

8. Your egg fried rice is now ready to serve.
