THE TEN STRONG POINTS

TRANSMISSIONThe new transmission of the Fortis represents agreat leap forward in terms of operator comfortand productivity: thanks to the new Sense-Shiftgearbox, shifts between the various Powershiftstages are uid and gradual, and the Sense-Clutchallows modulation of the shuttle response to suit theoperating conditions.

The Fortis transmission has 6 ranges, each with4 Powershift stages; this conguration can beaugmented with the addition of an optional creepergear for the four lowest ranges, to give a total of40 + 40 speeds.

The Innity version is equipped with a cleverAutomatic Powershift: an electronic control unitselects the most suitable ratio within the 4 stagesof each range, thereby optimizing engine efciencyand minimizing fuel consumption.

ENGINESModern farmers and contractors need tractorscapable of delivering maximum efciency. And thenew 4 and 6 c ylinder Tier 4i engines of the Fortis doexactly that, combining superior performance withlow fuel consumption and reduced emissions.

Four valves per cylinder, turbocharger withintercooler, electronic wastegate, electronicgovernor and Deutz Common Rail fuel injectionensure optimal performance in all conditions ,while the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) exhausttreatment system efciently reduces emissions.

PTOMaximum efciency in all conditions and with alltypes of implement. Fortis tractors have a 4-speedrear PTO (540/540ECO and 1000/1000ECO)with oil-immersed multi-plate clutch and modulatingelectrohydraulic control. They also feature the PTOAuto function, with which the operator can programthe power take-off to stop and restart when the rearlift links are raised and lowered to certain positions.

For jobs requiring front and rear implementcombinations, there is the 1000 rpm front PTO,which takes its drive directly from the engine.

HYDRAULICSThe hydraulic system includes a xed displacementpump with a capacity of 83 l /min plus anindependent pump for the hydrostatic steering.The Fortis offer a generous range of remote valves,with up to 7 electronically controlled spools on theInnity versions. The rear hitch has a capacity of9,200 kg, while the capacity of the optional front liftis 3,800 kg.
