Comprehensive ServicesOur Program
Bellevue Hospital Center has formed a partnership with the Department of Educa-tion to provide 24 hour access to care for student athletes.Bellevue Hospital Center and the Partnership for Youth provide quality expert treatment of orthopedic injury and diseases to PSAL athletes regardless of their ability to pay.
Bellevue consultative services to trainers, coaches and orthopaedic surgeons a�liated with PSAL and to work with coaches and trainers to ensure that PSAL athletes have the safest sports experience.
The Bellevue Hospital Center Partners for Youth programis a comprehensive sports medicine program for NYC Department of Education students who are injured during participation in Public School Athletic League (PSAL) related activities.
Partners for Youth Provides:
• 24 hour, seven day a week telephone consultation service
• 24 hour, seven day a week access to expert orthopedic evaluation and treat-ment of all sports injuries of bones, joints and soft tissue, fractures, tumors, pediat-ric hand and spine injuries
• Unsurpassed orthopedic care delivered by an exceptional team of faculty and residents of the New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of the NYU Medical School
• Uninsured student athletes are eligible for an a�ordable reduced fee program (HHC Options) –No one is turned away.
• Commitment to the best possible care in the safest and most respectful environ-ment

A Center of Excellence for Orthopaedic Care
Bellevue has a long-standing affiliation with the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases’ Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. NYU physicians are responsible for all orthopae-dic inpatient and outpatient care at Bellevue and run weekly clinics in a variety of sub-specialties.
Bellevue’s Emergency Department
is a Level One Trauma Center, recognized as the �nest in New York City, making Bellevue a designated hospital for injured police and �re �ghters as well as members of the United Nations and visiting dignitaries and heads of state.
Emergency Care• 24 hour access• Evaluation and treatment at Bellevue’s renowned Sports Medicine Clinic by orthopaedic physicians• Follow-up referrals to appropriate Bellevue clinics
Dedicated Program Coordinator
• Available Mondays to Fridays, 9am-5pm• After 5pm, an on-call orthopaedic physician will contact the program coordinator on the next business day to communicate patient’s follow-up needs• Patients can leave messages directly with program coordinator at (212) 562-5378. Coordinator will communicate pertinent appointment information to parent/guardian
Non-Emergency Care• Available Mondays to Fridays, 9am-5pm.• Call Partners for Youth Service Coordinator at (212) 562-5378• Identify yourself as a Partners for Youth participant• Outpatient coordinator will make arrangements for clinic appointment [Note: A parent or guardian must accompany their child, if a minor, to the initial clinic visit.] • Upon presentation to clinic, patients should present the following information to registration personnel: - Clinic appointment notice - Partners for Youth card - Insurance information* - PSAL Notification of Injury form filled out by both the parent and the coach * If insured, all insurance ID cards must be presented; carrier rules will apply. If not insured, parent/guardian will be screened for insurance eligibility and/or appropriate reduced fee through the HHC Options Program.
