refineries being built as a one project, is a major initiative in KPC’s strategy, planned to process up to 615,000 bpd. It will constitute up to 46%

of Kuwait’s refining capacity of 1.4 million bpd daily.Al-Zour Refinery will primarily supply local

power stations with up to 225,000 bpd of low-sulphur fuel oil (LSFO), as well as produce up to 340,000 bpd of high-value light products which can be exported.Al-Zour Refinery Project constitutes of five

packages, worth KD 3.95 billion, out of the total cost of the entire project, which is KD 4.87 billion.The LNG Import Facilities is part of KPC’s

strategic plan to “fulfill the local demand of fuel” until 2030. The project is the first of its kind in Kuwait, and will help supply the country’s growing needs for gas for power generation, as well as for refineries and petrochemical industries.In the short term, the LNG Import Facilities

The availability of gas supply from the LNG Import Facilities should allow maximum export of high value products such as crude oil and gas oil which sometimes used to fuel the power generation plant during peak demands.The Petrochemicals Complex (PRIZe) is

planned to produce high quality products like p-Xylene (para-xylene), benzene, polypropylene and gasoline for local demand, and for exporting to world markets. In addition, the project offers opportunities for further development of manufacturing by local entrepreneurs in the future.

Speaking after the visit made by KIPIC’s management team to the work site, CEO Hashem Sayed Hashem stated that the project is proceeding as scheduled. He commended the efforts exerted by the project management team and contractor in this regard.

KIPIC’s Performance Management Team Leader, Mohammad Al-Gharaballi stated that commissioning of Al-Zour Refinery is expected by December 2019, while LNG Import Facilities will be completed by September 2020 and the Petrochemicals Complex (PRIZe) in 2023.

Speaking at the symposium organized by the Petroleum Media and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Oil, Al-Gharaballi confirmed that work at KIPIC is proceeding

as planned.He stated that Al-Zour

Refinery will be one of the world’s largest, considering it has a capacity of 615,000 barrels per day (bpd) – about 46 percent of the total refining capacity in Kuwait.

With a total cost of KD 4.8 billion and five major packages, the strategic Al-Zour Refinery Project will primarily supply 225,000 bpd of low-sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) to local power plants, as well as produce up to 340,000 bpd of high-value light

products.On the LNG Import Facilities,

Al-Gharaballi said it will have a capacity of 3000 Billion British Thermal Unit per day – about 65,000 tons.

The LNG project will provide the optimal mix of natural gas for Kuwait’s power stations, together with eco-friendly fuel from Al-Zour Refinery. The objective behind the decision to establish LNG Import Facilities is to meet local demand for fuel until 2030, Al-Gharaballi explained.

was made to inspect safety measures, and health and environmental precautions.He noted that such visits are

The Al-Zour Refinery Operations Group has organized a meeting for KIPIC’s new employees, in collaboration with Mina Abdullah Operations Department and the Training and Career Development Department at Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC).This program is considered the first step

in the training and development of the staff,which consists of specialized technical training courses in and outside of Kuwait.Al-Zour Refinery Operations Group

Manager, Ali Mohammad Al-Ajmi pointed out that this is the initial step in implementing the training and development program for

newly recruited employees. He disclosed the meeting that was held in cooperation with Mina Abdullah Operations Department and KNPC’s Training and Career Development Department.The meeting was aimed at familiarizing

the newly recruited employees with units at Mina Abdullah Refinery through training and technical courses incorporated in Mina Abdullah’s training programs.Al-Ajmi said, training will commence

for two to three years, until the operations begin at Al-Zour Refinery, adding that there will be specialized training programs in and outside of Kuwait in a bid to train employees

in operating the strategic project of Al-Zour Refinery.Furthermore, Field Operator Mohammad

Al-Thufairi, who moved to KIPIC recently, expressed appreciation for the company’s keenness in conducting training courses to enhance the skills of new employees, such that they will greatly contribute to achieving the company’s desired goals.Talking about moving to KIPIC and the

KIPIC has organized a three-day introductory program for employees who have recently joined the company, in order to familiarize them with the code of business conduct at the company, the nature of work and the goals it is seeking to achieve.

Addressing the gathering, KIPIC’s CEO Hashem Sayed Hashem expressed his pleasure for meeting the new employees, saying he is keen that they would have a clear vision of work, and how to pass the training phase successfully.

“You’re a major part of KIPIC, and we are ready to eliminate any difficulties you may face,” he added.

The three-day program is the first for the newly recruited staff, said First Controller, Training and Career Development, Munira Hamad Al-Nukhilan.

“The aim is to introduce them to KIPIC, its departments and the services it provides. Also, explaining to them in details on career development and financial matters, “she added.

These young men and women are new to the oil sector - at the beginning of their path- and “we, through the program, seek to clarify all relevant matters,” Al-Nukhilan said,.

She praised the employees’ enthusiasm and eagerness to make the most of the information presented during the event.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Faisal Al- Behiri, a new comer into KIPIC, said that he had benefited a lot from the introductory program. It helped him get acquainted with the ideas and orientations of the company, together with the training plans for the new staff.

KIPIC is the latest K-company in the oil sector, and is managing strategic projects that will boost the national economy, he said when asked why he joined the company.

“As young people, we always aspire to join such ambitious companies that provide state of the art training programs, so that we can promote ourselves and serve our dear nation,” Al-Behiri said.

Sheikha Al-Bahari, also a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, said that the program had presented them with information on the company and the planned training courses to develop oneself.

When asked why she joined KIPIC, Al-Bahari said “The company is managing new national projects, where young people are eager to work and develop the nation’s economy. It is a new challenge, and we are working hard to succeed,” she said, pointing to the elevated dealings and high professionalism of decision making and procedures at KIPIC.

“The introductory program was great, I learned a lot from it” said Design engineer Nassar Al-Asfar.

“We are pleased to gain new experience here at KIPIC and we hope that it will be a strong addition to the national economy,” he added.

In a new step towards integration through its management of the Refinery, Petrochemical Complex and LNG Import Facilities, Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) announced the transfer of the third and last batch of Al-Shuaiba Refinery employees to KIPIC -- about 160 employees including team leaders, engineers and operators.

KIPIC’s CEO, Hashem Sayed Hashem said “This last batch, which includes a number of engineers and operators, will be a significant part of KIPIC.”

He noted that they will play an important role in the operation of Al-Zour Refinery and valuable addition to activating the company’s role.

He disclosed that this batch, which consists of about 160 employees, is the largest ever and includes several experts. He affirmed that there is a clear plan for training the new employees.

KIPIC’s Deputy CEO for Al-Zour Refinery, Hatem Al-Awadhi stated “This batch includes professionals who will undergo training courses

at Mina Abdullah Refinery, to prepare them to operate the new units at Al- Zour Refinery.”

Furthermore, KIPIC’s Deputy CEO for Petrochemicals and LNG, Ahmad Al-Jemaz expressed happiness over the transfer of this group whom he had worked with at Al-Shuaiba Refinery for nearly five years. He expects them to work at Al-Zour Refinery with dedication and perseverance so they can operate the company’s facilities efficiently.

KIPIC’s Human Resources Team Leader, Maryam Al-Musallam explained that this group is part of the process of transferring Al-Shuaiba Refinery employees to KIPIC, which started with the transfer of engineers and operation employees in two batches.

«The demand was high and the transfer process was so smooth, that it did not take long to

complete the relevant procedures,» she added.KIPIC has announced the appointment of

Mohammad Fahad Mohammad Al-Ajmi as Operation Team Leader at Area II (Al-Zour Refinery), Salem Faleh Abdullah Al-Hajri as Operation Team Leader at Area III and Adel Mohammad Akbar Al- Husseini as Operation Team Leader at Area V (Al-Zour Refinery). All three team leaders will be responsible before the Operation Group Manager (Al-Zour Refinery).

Moreover, Operation Team Leader for Area II at Al-Zour Refinery, Mohammad Fahad Al-Ajmi said «We signed the transfer contracts and we are happy to join KIPIC. I have never worked on such a large project like Al-Zour Refinery before.”

He pointed out that there were no difficulties, but we will still face challenges, asserting that they will follow up engineering studies and begin preparations for various stages of operation.

Operation Team Leader for Area III at Al-Zour Refinery, Salem Faleh Abdullah Al-Hajri hopes that they can transfer the experience they got from Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) to KIPIC. “We are enthusiastic in contributing to the establishment of Al-Zour Refinery,” he said.

“Over the last period, we were bent on setting out plans to distribute employees at Al-Zour Refinery,” he disclosed.

“It is normal for such a huge project to face difficulties, but we are confident that through our concerted efforts, we will overcome these difficulties,” he concluded.

KIPIC’s Deputy CEO for Al-Zour Refinery Hatem Al-Awadhi affirmed the company is keen to train Kuwaiti employees on using modern technology, adding that the company triumphed over a major challenge — the novation of contracts.

Al-Awadhi also confirmed completion of a large part of engineering works in the project, indicating that the project management team and operation and maintenance teams have met several times.

He disclosed KIPIC’s projects will provide energy, including oil and environmentally friendly fuel to supply the power plants, while taking into consideration various environmental concerns.

He said also that contracts novation was done without additional cost or fulfilling any further legal conditions.«We have monthly meetings with the contractors to assess the progress of works and relevant needs. We purchased 40 reactors which are stored in Al-Shuaiba area

KIPIC's role is to ensure integration of the three projects which will be beneficial to kuwait

What were the major challenges you faced during preparations for launching KIPIC?

- It was not easy to establish the company, so I consider it a big achievement. I thought it would only take about two months, but I discovered later that a lot more was required, such as budget, financial system and an organizational structure.

Also, the transfer of projects to the new company was quite difficult as there were already contractors working on them. The transfer required legal assessment and lengthy negotiations with contractors. It took eight months to negotiate the transfer, which was successfully completed.

Actually, it was a unique experience that resulted in KIPIC having fully ownership of for these projects.

Furthermore, it was not easy to recruit experienced employees. However, through cooperation with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and other subsidiaries; we made the necessary advertisements, followed by the recruitment procedures to fill the various vacancies in the organizational structure. Also, the necessary financial and administrative policies were set to ensure required governance measures are in place.

What about post-system stage?- We have adopted the ‘Go-Live’ process which helped

KIPIC management to meet weekly and have closer look at what the company requires to launch and allow prompt decisions.

IT team played a crucial role in this stage by providing the necessary IT applications to help set up the financial and HR systems for KIPIC.

Our focus now is toward progressing the three projects – Al-Zour Refinery, the LNG Import Facilities and Petrochemicals Complex (PRIZe) and ensure meeting the quality of execution and timeline.

Consequently, we are determined to avoid any obstacles which could delay the projects. This requires having the

project team and financial systems, as well as legal team, to ensure contracts execution is according to the approved budget.

What were the key challenges you overcame in the last stage?

- The first and major challenge was the novation of contracts. This was due to concerns about the possible requests of contractors - legal or financial - in return for novating these contracts. Thankfully, the team who negotiated with the international companies succeeded in obtaining the required agreements. The task was not that easy as some of these companies had additional requests. Nevertheless, we managed to complete the contracts novation without additional cost or fulfilling any further legal conditions.

The second difficulty we faced was the selection of managers and team leaders. It was quite a daunting task. We were able to recruit managers from within KPC and K-companies. We also hired experienced employees from Al-Shuaiba Refinery, which was retired in early April.

What about future challenges?The next challenge will be commissioning the projects.

We faced the challenge through implementing the first stage, particularly the appointment of managers and team leaders. It also includes training the Kuwaiti staff on using state of the art technology.

What is the value of Al-Zour Refinery for Kuwait, since it is one of the leading world refineries?

- At the beginning of this project in 2004, the aim was to provide environmentally friendly fuel oil for power stations as urban expansion requires more energy and power plants. This strategic project will provide 225,000 bpd of environmentally friendly fuel or oil, so it is of

paramount significance to Kuwait. It is an environmentally friendly project because its sulfur content is 1%. This refinery is designed to process different types of crudes, including heavy and light oil.

In addition, the Kuwaiti society will benefit a lot from the project as it will generate jobs for Kuwaitis in all sectors; as well as boost the local economy.

The location of the refinery, LNG Import Facilities and Petrochemicals Complex (PRIZe), will lead to the creation of an industrial zone in this region. Once it starts operating, there will be a populated area; thereby, turning everything into a strategic location.

What about the achievement rate in Al-Zour Refinery project?

- The percentage of completion in the five packages varies, but in general, a large part of the engineering work has been completed. We have also begun to build the tanks, and forty reactors have been installed and in excellent condition.

In addition, there are many meetings taking place between the project management team and the team that will operate the refinery, and the most important thing we have been keen in this regard the presence of the Operations and Maintenance teams at an early stage to ensure the integrated coordination between the teams to prepare the correct operation

We also hold monthly meetings with the contractors to follow up the progress and related issues which could affect the progress, issues like bringing required manpower from outside Kuwait. In this regard, I would like to commend the cooperation of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Municipalities and other State actors in overcoming the difficulties surrounding the issue of bringing in workers from abroad.

Finally, do you want to say something to citizens

on the importance of this project?- It is important for the citizens to know that KIPIC, just

like other K- companies, plays a certain role. This role revolves around managing the construction and operation of the three projects, the refinery, the LNG Import Facilities and the Petrochemicals Complex (PRIZe) projects in an integrated manner

They should also know that these projects will be beneficial to our country, as they will provide energy out of oil and environmentally friendly fuel; while supporting power plants in a way that takes into consideration various environmental concerns and serves public health.

Additionally, they will provide jobs and training for Kuwaitis. The expected manpower requirement is approximately 1,000 Kuwaiti graduates with high school, diploma and university certificates. Therefore, it is in the interest of everybody to complete these projects as planned. We are in dire need of positive support from citizens.

Al-Zour Refinery project, which was suspended several times, is now on the right track, and we hope that everyone will cooperate with us; especially other associate companies for KIPIC to become a model.

And to recognize the importance of these projects to the country, which is the provision of fuel and petrochemical products of high quality and environmentally friendly. It will also create employment opportunities for national workforce and training. It is expected to be create about one thousand job opportunities for Kuwaiti youth (diploma holders and university graduates), so it is in the interest of all that these projects move as planned, and we need the support from everyone.

In addition, although the Al-Zour Refinery project has been delayed more than once in the past, it is now proceeding with a stable plan. We hope that everyone, especially K-companies, will cooperate for the success of "KIPIC".

مــا أبــرز الصعوبــات التــي واجهتكــم خــال مراحــل اإلعــداد النطاق "البتروليــة املتكاملــة"؟

ــر مــا ــا أعتب ــة ســهلة، ولهــذا أن ــم يكــن تأســيس الشــركة عملي لحــدث إجنــازا كبيــرا فقــد كنــت أعتقــد أن تأســيس أي شــركة ال يحتــاج ســوى قرابــة شــهرين، لكــن اكتشــفنا أن األمــر يحتــاج إلــى ميزانيــة وتأســيس نظــام مالــي وهيــكل تنظيمــي، كمــا أن عمليــة نقــل املشــاريع للشــركة اجلديــدة لــم تكــن بالســهولة املتوقعــة وذلــك لوجــود مقاولــون يعملــون يف هــذه املشــاريع، والتحويــل فتــرة اســتغرق واتفاقيــات ممــا قانونيــة إلــى دراســة يحتــاج ــل هــذه العقــود ــا التفــاوض لتحوي ــة شــهور مت فيه ــت ثماني قاربــدة ــدة وجي ــة فري ــك التجرب ــت تل ــر بنجــاح. كان ــل مت األم وبالفعحتــى وصلنــا ألن تكــون شــركتنا مســؤولة بشــكل كامــل عــن تلــك

كان عمليــة حتويــل العقــود مــن أبــرز التحديــات، إذ كان هنــاك تخــوف مــن وجــود مطالبــات لــدى املقاولــن لتحويــل تلــك العقــود ســواء مطالبــات قانونيــة أو ماليــة، لكــن وهلل احلمــد، اســتطاع الفريــق الــذي تشــكل للتفــاوض مــع الشــركات العامليــة احلصــول لوجــود بصعوبتهــا تتصــف والتــي املطلوبــة، التوقيعــات علــى مطالبــات إضافيــة لــدى هــذه الشــركات، لكــن يف النهايــة جنحــت عمليــة التحويــل دون صــرف أي مبالــغ إضافيــة أو وضــع أي

وماذا عن التحديات املستقبلية؟لتشــغيل االســتعداد فســيكون املقبــل بالتحــدي يتعلــق فيمــا املشــاريع، والتــي بدأنــا مواجهتــه مــن خــالل تنفيــذ املرحلــة األولــى واملتمثلــة يف تعيــن مديريــن ورؤســاء الفــرق للمشــاريع، وستشــهد هــذه املرحلــة تدريــب الطاقــم الكويتــي عبــر توفيــر فــرص تدريبية

لهــم الســتخدام أحــدث وســائل التكنولوجيــا.

مــا قيمــة مشــروع الــزور بالنســبة للكويــت خاصــة أن مصفــاة الــزور مــن أكبــر املصــايف العامليــة؟

ــي انطلقــت عــام 2004، ــد أهــم املشــاريع االســتراتيجية والت يعزيــادة لتلبيــة للبيئــة الصديقــة الطاقــة توفيــر بهــدف وذلــك ــي وإمــداد ــة نتيجــة التوســع العمران ــى الطاق ــي عل ــب احملل الطلمحطــات الكهربــاء بالوقــود منخفــض الكبريــت، حيــث ســيوفر ِمــن زيــت هــذا املشــروع مــا يقــارب 225 ألــف برميــل يوميــاً الوقــود الصديــق للبيئــة، وبالتالــي فــإن أهميتــه للكويــت كبيــرة

جــدا. أمــا كونــه صديقــا للبيئــة فهــذا ألن نســبة الكبريــت بــه قليلــة جــداً ــة، كمــا أن هــذه املصفــاة ستســتوعب ــد عــن واحــد يف املئ ال تزي

أنواعــاً مختلفــة مــن النفــط منهــا النفــط الثقيــل واخلفيــف. وســيترتب علــى تنفيــذ هــذا املشــروع فوائــد عديــدة يســتفيد منهــا املجتمــع الكويتــي، حيــث ســيوفر فــرص عمل يف جميــع القطاعات للكويتيــن ويرتقــي باالقتصــاد الوطنــي. وســيخلق موقــع املصفــاة باإلضافــة إلــى مشــروع الغــاز الطبيعــي املســال والبتروكيماويــات منطقــة صناعيــة ضخمــة، كمــا أنــه بعــد التشــغيل ســتكون هنــاك منطقــة ســكنية، وبالتالــي تتحــول املنطقــة إلــى مكان اســتراتيجي

هام.

ماذا عن نسبة اإلجناز يف مشروع الزور؟تتفــاوت نســبة اإلجنــاز يف احلــزم اخلمســة، لكــن بشــكل عــام ــا مت االنتهــاء مــن جــزء كبيــر مــن األعمــال الهندســية، كمــا بدأنالتنفيــذ يف بنــاء اخلزانــات إضافــة إلــى أنــه مت تركيــب أربعــن

ــازة. ــة ممت مفاعــاًل وهــم بحالإلــى جانــب ذلــك فهنــاك اجتماعــات عديــدة تتــم بــن الفريــق املشــرف علــى تنفيــذ املشــاريع وفريــق العمــل الــذي سيشــغل املصفــاة، ومــن أهــم مــا حرصنــا علــىه بهــذا الصــدد تواجــد مديــر

العمليــات ومديــر الصيانــة منــذ أول يــوم لضمــان وجــود التنســيق املتكامــل بــن الفــرق املعنيــة كلهــا لإلعــداد الصحيــح للتشــغيل. كذلــك نقــوم بعقــد اجتماعــات شــهرية مــع املقاولــن للوقــوف علــى تطــور ســير العمــل ومــا يحتــاج إليــه املقاولــون خاصــة مــا يتعلــق ــة مــن خــارج الكويــت. ويف هــذا الصــدد ــر العمال مبوضــوع توفيأود أن أشــيد بتعــاون وزارة الشــؤون والبلديــة واجلهــات األخــرى يف الدولــة لتذليــل الصعوبــات احمليطــة مبســألة جلــب العمالــة

من اخلارج.

هــل مــن كلمــة أخيــرة توجههــا للمواطــن الكويتــي فيمــا يتعلــق بأهميــة هــذا املشــروع؟

مــن املهــم أن يعلــم املواطــن أن شــركة "البترولية املتكاملة" كغيرهــا مــن الشــركات الزميلــة لهــا دور معــن، وهــذا الــدور يتمحــور حــول ــي املســال ــاز الطبيع ــاة والغ ــن مشــروع املصف ــل ب ــة التكام عمليوالبتروكيماويــات. وأن يــدرك أهميــة هــذه املشــاريع للبلــد والتــي تتمثــل يف توفيــر الوقــود ومنتجــات بتروكيماويــة ذات جــودة عاليــة ــاء ــا ســتدعم محطــات الكهرب ــى أنه ــة، عــالوة عل وصديقــة للبيئبشــكل يراعــي األمــور البيئيــة ممــا يعــود بالنفــع علــى صحــة للعمالــة توظيــف فــرص توفيــر هــو اآلخــر واألمــر املواطــن. ــة الــف فرصــة ــة وتدريبهــم، ومــن املتوقــع أن تتوفــر قراب الوطنيعمــل للشــباب الكويتــي مــن أصحــاب شــهادات الدبلــوم واجلامعة، وبالتالــي مــن مصلحــة اجلميــع أن تتــم هــذه املشــاريع بحســب مــا هــو مخطــط لهــا، ونحــن بحاجــة إلــى الدعــم اإليجابــي مــن

املواطنــن.إضافــة إلــى ذلــك فبالرغــم مــن تأخــر مشــروع مصفــاة الــزور أكثــر مــن مــرة يف الســابق إال أنــه اآلن يســير بخطــة ثابتــة وبشــكل ــة صحيــح. ونتمنــى أن يتعــاون اجلميــع خاصــة الشــركات الزميل

حتــى تصبح "البتروليــة املتكاملة" منوذجــاً يحتــذى بــه.

الثالثة واألخيرة من العاملن يف مصفاة الشعيبة إلى "البترولية املتكاملة" والتي ضمت ما يقارب الـ 160 موظفاً

من رؤساء فرق ومهندسن ومشغلن. وقــال الرئيــس التنفيــذي للشــركة هاشــم ســيد هاشــم إن املهندســن مــن التــي تضــم عــدداً الدفعــة األخيــرة "هــذه مهمــاً يف البتروليــة املتكاملــة"، واملشــغلن ســتكون عنصــراً إلــى أنهــم "ســيلعبون دوراً مهمــاً يف تشــغيل مصفــاة الفتــاً

"البترولية المتكاملة": البدء في تصدير المشتقات النفطية ديسمبر 2019

املتكاملــة البتروليــة للصناعــات الكويتيــة الشــركة أعلنــت أنــه ســيتم البــدء يف تصديــر املشــتقات النفطيــة يف ديســمبر 2019، الفتــة إلــى أنــه مت إجنــاز 80% مــن أعمــال اللحــام املشــتقات تلــك لتصديــر املخصصــة الغاطســة لألنابيــب

وإنزالهــا للميــاه. بــدوره قــال الرئيــس التنفيذي لـ"البتروليــة املتكاملة" هاشــم ســيد هاشــم يف أعقــاب جولــة ميدانيــة بحريــة قامــت بهــا إدارة الشــركة يف موقــع عمــل تلــك األنابيــب: "املشــروع يســير باجلهــد أشــيد أن وأود املوضوعــة، الزمنيــة وفــق اخلطــة

الــذي يقــوم بــه فريــق إدارة املشــروع واملقــاول املنــوط بــه تنفيــذ هــذا املشــروع".

والتأكــد مــن إجــراءات األمــن والســالمة".وشــدد علــى أن مرافــق تصديــر املنتجــات النفطيــة ســيكون

لهــا دور كبيــر يف تشــغيل املصفــاة. وإلــى ذلــك قــال نائــب الرئيــس التنفيــذي ملصفــاة الــزور حــامت العوضــي: "هــذه الزيــارة التفقديــة تهــدف للتأكــد مــن إجراءات

األمــن ومتابعــة تطــور املشــروع الذي مت إجنــاز 80% منه". وأردف: "متــت مقابلــة القائمــن علــى هــذا املشــروع الــذي بــدأ العمــل فيــه يف يوليــو املاضــي، ومتــت زيــارة املصنــع )وهــو عبــارة عــن ســفينة موجــودة يف املــاء( والــذي تتــم فيــه عمليــة ــر ــاء وهــي تعتب ــا حتــت امل ــب وجتهيزهــا وإنزاله حلــام األنابي

والبالغــة 4.87 مليــار د.ك.الطبيعــي الغــاز اســتيراد مرافــق مشــروع أمــا فقــد جــاء متماشــياً مــع اخلطــة االســتراتيجية التــي يخــص فيمــا الكويتيــة البتــرول مؤسســة اعتمدتهــا موضــوع "تلبيــة الطلــب احمللــي مــن الوقــود" حتــى عــام 2030، ليعتبــر هــذا املشــروع األول مــن نوعــه يف دولــة الكويــت، حيــث يتــم حاليــاً إنشــاؤه لتلبيــة احتياجــات لتوليــد الطبيعــي الغــاز مــن املتزايــدة الكويــت دولــة الطاقــة الكهربائيــة، إضافــة إلــى احتياجــات مســتهلكن آخريــن للغــاز الطبيعــي كمصــايف النفــط والصناعــات

البتروكيماويــة.وســيكون لهــذا املشــروع دور مهم علــى املــدى القريــب مــن خــالل توفيــر املزيــج األمثــل مــن الغــاز الطبيعــي، إضافــة إلــى زيــت الوقــود الصديــق للبيئــة مــن مصفــاة الــزور لتلبيــة احتياجــات محطــات القــوى الكهربائيــة، مــا يســاهم يف توفيــر كميــات إضافيــة مــن النفــط اخلــام وزيــت الغــاز لبيعهــا يف األســواق املختلفــة ممــا يضمــن
