Scarcity

Almost a year ago, the fast food chain ‘Jollibee’ announced that they wouldn’t be able to

provide their most popular fried chicken called ‘chicken joy’ for a few days. This caused an

uproar amongst not only the usual consumers of Jollibee but the casual consumers as well.

Everyone started to crave for the chicken joy once they found out about the news and when it

finally came back there were lines everywhere. Scarcity is a scary thing. You won’t realize how

much you want it until it’s almost gone.

Social Validation

Not everyone needs to use a personal deodorant. I know some people who barely even sweat

yet they continue to use it. The commercials they show through public television make it look

as if it is a vital thing everyone should have. I remember a commercial I saw back when I was in

elementary. I think it was called the ‘First Day High.’ It showed that every student from every

single clique used the branded deodorant and is important to have during your first day of

school. If you didn’t have it, you wouldn’t be able to fit in and find your own clique in school.

Liking

In the shows I would watch when I was younger, there would always be that episode where the

characters would use a car wash as a fund raiser. They would separate the females with the

males and typically both genders would end up competing against each other. Given the fact

that most of the drivers were male, the females obviously had an advantage. The combination

of a female being and a car alone can easily entice the liking of the opposite sex.
