SAILEN MANNA

As a defender, it is hard to gain

recognition because you don't

show up in many stats. Sailen

was an exception to that. He

captained the Indian National

team in the early 20th Century

during his astonishing 20 year

career. Although he passed in

2012, his legacy will live on

forever in Indian Football

Currently still at the top of his

game, Sunil amazed football

fans when he broke onto the

field at age 18. Since then he

has scored almost 100 goals

and even played in the

American MLS for a short time.

Now back in India he is

earning awards and titles for

all of the teams he represents!

Known for his powerful

strikes which usually

ended up in the back of

the net , Bhutia was the

youngest ever goal scorer

for the Indian National

team . Baichung was the

first Indian to ever sign a

contract with a European

team .

Jayesh was named fans'

player of the year in the FPIA

Indian Football Awards in

2015. Although he has yet to

appear on the national team,

he has represented well on

the U-23 team for the past 2

years. Keep an eye out for

Jayesh, the best is still yet to

come
