JWAM holds protest march for starting 4 G Internet, Restoration of J&K statehood Killing of Hindu goldsmith in Srinagar is not a mere act of terror: Brig Gupta TT CORRESPONDENT JAMMU, JAN. 02: The broad daylight murder of a Hindu goldsmith in busy Amirakadal of Srinagar cannot be brushed aside merely as another act of desperation by the Pakistan backed terrorists but is a direct assault on the con- cept of One India One Nation, stated Brig Veteran Anil Gupta Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party. In a press release issued here today Brig Gupta has said that apart from gross human right violation of the minorities in Kashmir the dastardly act of the terror outfit The Resistance Front (TRF) is a challenge of the idea of India which is sym- bolised by Sarva Dharma Sama Bhava, the tenet of secularism in India. In India we embrace all religions but it is a matter of concern and shame that the leaders of self-proclaimed secular parties in Kashmir have once again failed to condemn Pakistan and its proxy TRF whose self- styled commander Hamza has openly threatened any Indian National harbouring intention of settling in Kashmir as 'an agent of RSS' and would be elimi- nated. The reason for killing the Hindu goldsmith is stated to be purchase of a shop by him after obtaining the domicile certificate which is a clear misrepresentation of facts since the two are not inter-linked. However, the larger concern of demo- graphic change highlighted by the terror outfit is same that the Kashmiri leaders have been using to emo- tionally exploit the locals by terming all other than the Kashmiri Muslims as "outsiders". The killing appears to have been moti- vated by such utterances and needs thorough investi- gation since it is an anti- national act. The Indian nation can no longer afford the third divi- sion on the basis of religion and succumb to the pres- sure groups in Kashmir pro- moting exclusivist- supremacist doctrine of "only my way is the right way" and those who do not subscribe to "my way" are not deserving to live here asserted Brig Gupta. The killing is a warning to those original inhabitants of the Valley who want to return to their homeland but also to those who may be want- ing to settle here post abro- gation of 370/35A. It is a direct challenge and warn- ing to the reported efforts of the government to establish a Sainik Colony in Kashmir. "The terror act is an open threat to Kashmir's total integration with India. If Gupkaris can shout at the top of their voices and blame the army of a fake encounter, though unsub- stantiated, why they are scared to name and shame the terror group and its mentor Pakistan? Does the demand of restoration of 370 not smack of sub- nationalism that has no rel- evance in One India con- cept" rued Brig Gupta?
