Motivation:• Context
‒ GSA coordinating two test campaigns‒ Mass-market receivers tests carried out by ESA‒ Professional receivers tests supported by EC JRC‒ Confidentiality of the results
• Objectives‒ Supporting early introduction of Galileo in COTS receivers‒ Assessing Galileo readiness to fully exploit the system
potentialities‒ Getting recommendations from the Galileo user community
Precision receivers tests 2014/2015

• Record & Playback• Interference analysis in the
EMSL, time differed zero baseline
• Simulated• Multiple frequency
interference analysis, time differed zero baseline
• Live tests• Static multipath
characterisation using post-processing and bespoke SDR receivers
• Dynamic signal tracking performance analysis

Anechoic Chamber Tests with GSS9000
Calibrated, noise free output (from the simulator back panel) guarantees nominal reception power (i.e. -130 dBm for L1 C/A) at the antenna allowing use of ambient noise

• Extensive campaign with seven precision receivers successfully completed
• Some mature products, other under development• Fruitful interaction with all manufacturers, all
extremely supportive• Residuals of GAL E1 smaller than those of GPS L1• Combined (GPS+GAL) PV better both in nominal and
interference scenarios
Conclusions
