The number of concealed hinges per door depends on:• Door width and height• Door weight• Door material

Side adjustment

Side adjustment of door with Duomatic con-cealed hingesA special adjusting facility allows the door to be adjusted laterally, whereas the value of 0.7 mm remains unchanged.The adjusting screw produces the lateral travel of the hinge arm from –1.5 mm up to +4.5 mm.This value is reduced to –0,5 mm with double profile door hinges.

According to the example diagram, three concealed hinges have to be fitted with a door height of 1,500 mm and a door weight of 9 – 12 kg.

The load bearing capacity can be increased by 3 kg by fitting 1 additional concealed hinge; see blue line. Fitting 2 additional con-cealed hinges increases the load bearing capacity to 6 kg; See yellow line.

Choice of mounting plateThe different distance heights of the mounting plates allow adjustments to be made to the door overlay.The starting point for determining the required distance is the desired type of mounting with a defined door overlay.

e.g. full overlay mountingwith gap (F) 5 mm

Door overlay (G) =wood thickness (J) – gap (F)e.g. 20 – 5 = 15 mm

In the example the door overlay is defined at 15 mm. This produces distances to the cup of 3 and 6 mm. If distance to cup (E) of 6 mm is chosen, it equals a mounting plate height (distance) of 6 mm.

Determining the minimum gap that is required

The required minimum gap depends on the hinge type, distance to cup and door thickness. Once the doorthickness and the distance to cup have been determined, the minimum gap is shown in the application table.

Example :With a door thickness of 19 mm and a distance to cup of 4 mma minimum gap of 2 mm is required.

Number of concealed hinges per door

The values in the table are sample measurements. Trial mounting is recommended. The number of concealed hinges per door depends on:

According to the example diagram, three concealed hinges have to befitted with a door height of 1,500 mm and a door weight of 7 – 12 kg.

Choice of mounting plate

The different distance heights of the mountingplates allow adjustments to be made to thedoor overlay. The distance is determined bythe mounting plate thickness. The starting pointfor determining the required distance is thedesired type of mounting with a defined dooroverlay .

Number of concealed hinges per door

The values in the table are sample measurements for doors up to 600 mm.

The door’s width should not exceed its height.Door width max. 600 mm. Please inquire for doors wider than 600 mm.

The distance between the hinges of doors with two hinges must be at leastas long as the door is wide, if possible even longer

In case of heavy loads, an additional hinge mounted approx. 100 mm belowthe top hinge is recommended.DIm. X = max. 100 mm

The number of concealed hinges per door depends on: Door width and height Door weight Door material

A third screw must be used for securing the hinge arm

According to the example diagram, four concealed hinges have to be fitted with a door height of 2,000 mm and a door weight of 16 kg.

With doors under 400 mm wide the number of concealed hinges must be determined by a mounting test.Trial mounting is recommended.
