■ Famous in Bangkok are the local street food and fruit stands. Although a must-try, be mindful of overcharging
and hygiene standards — especially for weak stomachs.
■ The easiest mode of transport in Bangkok is the MRT/BTS train, which serves all the major tourist areas in
Bangkok.
■ Dress appropriately at temples (no shorts or sleeveless tops).
■ Day passes and single tickets are available at every train station booth.
■ Be mindful of locals inviting you to "ping pong shows." Politely decline if you are approached.

Tips
The best times to visit: midnight (12-2am) or early in the morning (6-7am) as you'll see florists arranging their lovely
fresh flowers, ready for sale.
If visiting at night, be sure to visit nearby Yaowarat Road, Bangkok's Chinatown. From textiles to second-hand
souvenirs, its a bargain-hunter's paradise.

If you're buying things from the street, remember to haggle down to at least half the originally quoted price, and always
question the goods' authenticity.

Haggle, haggle, haggle! None of the things in Central World have price tags and store owners will try to sell you things
