MEDITATION.

KINGDOM LIFESTYLE: RIGHTEOUSNESS

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Matt 5:6. Righteousness is the quality of being morally correct, justifiable, being upright and free from guilt of sin. It is an attribute that implies that a person’s action are justified and can have the connotation that the person has been judged or reckoned as living a life that is pleasing to God. Such was described and demonstrated by Job 1:1,8. Righteousness is something God wants from us and encourages us to be actively pursuing in our lives. Micah 6:8. To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. Prov. 21:3. The Lord is righteous and He loves righteousness. It is one of the Chief attributes of God. The psalmist says the only people who will abide and dwell in God’s tabernacle are those who walk upright and works righteously. Psalm 15:1-2. Our Lord Jesus Christ said “For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the Kingdom of heaven.” Matt 5:20. This clearly stated that only the righteous will make heaven. We must move away from all things that corrupt our mind, and pollute our soul and body on our earthly journey. We must believe God with all our heart. Righteousness must be our lifestyle just as food and water are needed for our sustainance. As believers, we must: Be in daily submission to God. Romans 12:12 Continuously study the word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2:15.

Joshua 1:8 Be filled with the Holy Spirit. Eph. 5:18 Constant fellowship with God. 1 John 1:5-9 Practice the act of righteousness daily. Never be weary of doing good. Gal 6:9. Beloved, the Kingdom of Heaven is prepared for those who have washed their clothes and ready for the bridegroom. Only the righteous will live together forever with the Lord. Let righteous living become your lifestyle today and the Lord will remove every filthiness and uncleanliness from you

and set you apart for Himself. Have a blessed week in Jesus name.

THEME: IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST

SUB-THEME: The Divinity of Christ (1)

TOPIC: His Conception

TEXTS: Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-35

AIMS:

i. To discover some prophecies concerning Christ's unique conception that is

different from natural conception

ii. To learn from the chastity of the Virgin Mary and

iii. To teaches the importance of chastity to the Christian family.

Introduction:

A virgin is someone who has never engaged in sexual intercourse. The conception of

Jesus describes how the Saviour was conceived in the womb of the young Virgin

Mary through the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit and without Mary having

sexual intercourse with any man. God chose this mystery, which is beyond human

understanding to bring His Son into the world (Matt.1: 18; Luke 1:34-35).

Study Guide/Questions:

1. What are some biblical evidences of the Virgin's conception of Jesus Christ?

Isaiah 7:14;

2. Differentiate between natural human conception and the divine conception of

Jesus Christ. Gen 4:1, 17, 25; 16: 4; Matt. 1: 18-19, 24-25; Luke 1:26-35.

3. What does the Bible teaches about chastity of men and virgins? Deut 22:20-29;

Acts 15:20; 21:25; 1Cor 6:18; 7:2 1Thess 4:3.

4. What lessons Christians draw from Mary's state at the visit of the Angel? Isaiah

1:16; 2Tim 2:20-21; Jam 4:8;

5. What are the consequences of sexual immorality? Eph 5:5; Jude 1:7; Rev. 2:22;

21:8.

Conclusion: The supernatural conception of our Lord Jesus Christ is a proof of His

pureness and holiness from human inheritance of Adam's sinful nature. He has to

come through a woman who has had no sexual intercourse with any man; to come to

the world and fulfil the work of redemption.

Food For Thought: Christ's mysterious birth by a woman was without a man's seed.

Memory Verse: Matthew 1:23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a

Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us.”
