AREAS ACT, 1950 (ACT NO .41 OF ,(:1950) AS AI’ENDED, OF AREAS SITUATED IN AND AROUND JOIIANNES BURTS. AS APPEARED PER ADVERT IN THE STAR OF THE 28TH :'AY,1$54#

I herebj* lodge objections to the above notice on the following grounds

a) I object on principle.

b) The board has discretion to recommend to the Jlinister the nroclanation of group areas or otherwise inthe areas situated in and around Johannesburg. In exercising this discretion th« board must investigat the general desirability of setting the races aDart in the areas mentioned. I object on the grounds that the relation between the races in these areas has always been amicable and that separation is undesirable

c) I also object on the grounds that the scheme as proposed will have the result of depriving me"of my means of livlihood and ruin me economically. It will, drastically affect the members of my community,

I therefore wish to appear before the board in person and propose to lead and adduce evidence in regard to the latter objection.

Yours faithfully,
