Our SAT Weekend program is a streamlined course that is ideal for busy high school students who cannot meet on the weekdays. Taught by Diana Wang, a veteran SAT instructor with 7 years of experience, this course will emphasize 14 hours of reading comprehension, grammar, and essay writing. In addition, 8 hours of math will be covered.

The ACT Weekend course covers the essential components of the ACT: Reading, English, Essay Writing, Science Reasoning, and Math. In addition to concepts, valuable time saving strategies will be taught, particularly for the Reading and Science Reasoning sections. Every Sunday students will take a timed test and review problems for all 4 sections of the test.

Session 1: June 5 - June 30 Our intensive SAT and PSAT programs will teach foundational concepts

This course willemphasize 20 hours of reading comprehension, grammar, and essay writing. In addition, 12 hours of math wil be emphasized. Students can supplement their course with an optional package of proctored tests in preparation for their target test date.

Our guided reading program will cover books from students’ freshman and sophomore years. In addition to learning how to analyze novels, students willlearn how to compose a 5-paragraph literature analysis essay that students willbe writing throughout their high school years.

HOURLY RATE: For students who just need less than 10 hours of assistance, an hourly option is available.

Our high school Science and Math Previews focus on the more challenging courses that students can expect to see. Our Preview courses shadow the local high school’s curriculum. The preview courses will cover 80 - 100% of the concepts (depending on the course). Classes meet Mon -Fri.

Do you get nervous before speaking in front of an audience? Thiscourse will help you become a powerful public speaker adept at leaving a lasting impression. Students will learn how to replicate thetechniques used by top TED speakers. They will learn how to craftand tell an engaging story, make and support arguments, and holdan audience’s interest. In addition, students will learn the basics of argumentation and debate while working collaborativeley with team members.

Elevate your writing in this engaging seminar-style writing course. This course will teach practical strategiesthat will help you become a stronger writer. The goal of this course is to take an advanced approach to pre-algebra. In addition to covering the fundamentals, there will be an emphasis on word problems. To supplement the course, some AMC 8 problemswill be introduced. By the end of the course, students will gain more con�dence tackling word problems and sharpen their algebraic skills.

Fantastic Tales of Adventure: Creative WritingJune 19 - June 23: 9am - 12pm orAugust 7 - August 11: 9am - 12pm

Do you like to use your imagination and make it come to life in your writing? Students will learn how to re�ne their voice, how toorganize narratives, how to embed metaphors, employ di�erent paragraph styles, and whip up drama in their writing. In additionreading comprehension will be stressed, students will analyzethe writing of well-known creative writers. The writing room will become a hub for creativity and unleash your imagination.

Mad Science: Thinking Like a Scientist June 12 - June 16: 9am - 1pm

Spend a whole week being a scientist! In this class, you will learnhow to e�ectively apply the scienti�c method by learning how to design and implements experiments involving engineering, food chemistry,and biology. Young scientists will be encouraged to test their hypothesis, use their results to make predictions about what might happen if the experiment is expanded to test new variables, and present their results through a poster presentation. Students will be given the tools they need to e�ectively learn about the world around them by pursuing answers to their questions in a methodical way.

Blogging about Your Passions will teach you how to become an authority writer about your topic. We will cover how to write a 1,000 word blog post and how to �ght writer’s block. We will discuss the best types of articles and you will learn how to add pizzaz to your blogs to increase views and engage your audience.

Clarence Darrow, America’s best known trial layer, was also one ofAmerican history’s most skilled orators. Like Clarence Darrow, you will hone your lawyering and oratorial skills. In Mock Trial, you willimprove your public speaking and critical thinking skills whileacquiring an experiential understanding of our criminal justice system. Mock Trial will teach you to work and think on your feet,get your point across while under pressure, and be able to articulate a response within seconds.

We will focus on storytelling, core news, the art ofinterviewing, and reporting, just like the New York Times newsroom.
