2ND ANNUAL RAVENNA INVITATIONAL

SUPPORTING

INFINITE HERO FOUNDATION

July 27th, 2015

Page 2: 2nd Annual Ravenna Invitational Supporting Infinite Hero

Welcome to The Club at Ravenna. We are honored to host the Second Annual Ravenna Invitational supporting the Infinite Hero Foundation.

As a community, we believe in the importance of supporting our veterans for their service and sacrifice to our country. The Ravenna Invitational is Ravenna’s way to help fund innovative and effective programs for our wounded veterans. Last year, we raised approximately $100,000, and our 2015 goal is to double that amount.

In support of the Infinite Hero Foundation, Medal of Honor recipient Sal Giunta and two-time Masters Champion Bubba Watson will join us today as our special guests of honor. We sincerely appreciate Mr. Giunta and Mr. Watson for taking the time out of their schedules to support this important cause.

Our goals for the Invitational are to raise money and awareness for the Infinite Hero Foundation; to host a fireside chat that includes insight into Sal Giunta’s military experience and his memoir Living with Honor; to facilitate discussions with Bubba Watson on his military affiliation and golf; and lastly, to provide a fun and enjoyable golf experience for the participants in the Invitational.

We thank each and every one of you for contributing to the Infinite Hero Foundation. Today, you are making a difference. A very special thanks to Oakley and their staff, to The Club at Ravenna and their staff, to the media for their interest and exposure of this important cause, to the many volunteers who made this event possible, and to the following organizations for their support:

Oakley, Inc. | Founding Corporate Partner of Infinite Hero Foundation Stevinson Imports | Hole-In-One Sponsor Pure Grips | Golf Grips Ketel One | Spirits

Our hope for you today is that you enjoy The Club at Ravenna, the course, and the individuals who share in the support of Infinite Hero. We hope this day brings awareness and raises record-breaking amounts to help fund the missions of Infinite Hero.

Sincerely,

Neil Duncan, Co-Chair Kevin Collins, Co-Chair

portion of the Foundation’s overhead, allowing the majority of funds received to go directly into grants. To date, Infi nite Hero has donated nearly $2 million to 10 different service organizations providing critical support in the areas of mental and physical recovery.

What is a Hero? The heroes of today do not wear capes, masks or mechanized suits. Our heroes

silently serve, provide aid around the world and defend the freedom and quality of life that all of us enjoy. They are proud of their service and rarely ask for anything in

return. They walk among us, often carrying the scars of their sacrifi ce.

Our PledgeInfi nite Hero’s pledge to those who have risked their lives is to reward their

sacrifi ce and bravery with support that articulates our gratitude. We partner with like-minded organizations to provide access to innovative rehabilitation

programs that address the unique needs of veterans and their families.

The measure of our impact is positive outcomes, not merely gestures. Like the heroes we serve, we refuse to shy away from a challenge.

Where boundaries exist, we will plow through them. Where strategies and solutions have not yet been found, we will create them.

We will marshal the resources of technology, community, medical research and mental health care to foster collaborative innovation and affect positive

change for our heroes in need.

Infi nite Hero

for military heroes and their families dealing with service-related mental and physical injuries.

Sal GiuntaSpecial Guests

Salvatore “Sal“ Augustine Giunta was born on January 21,1985 in Clinton, Iowa. The oldest of three children of Steven—a medical equipment technician and Rosemary—a pre-school teacher, Giunta grew up in Cedar Rapids and Hiawatha, Iowa. At age 18, while working in a Subway sandwich shop, he decided to enlist and he joined the Army in November 2003. He attended Infantry One Station Unit Training and the Basic Airborne Course at Fort Benning, Georgia, before being assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Vicenza, Italy, on May 24, 2004. Promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in 2009, Giunta completed two combat tours to Afghanistan totaling 27 months of deployment.

On October 25, 2007, while conducting a patrol as team leader, Giunta and his team were navigating through the treacherous terrain of Afghanistan’s Korengal Valley when they were ambushed by a well-armed and well-coordinated insurgent force. While under heavy enemy fi re, Giunta immediately sprinted towards cover and engaged the enemy. Seeing that his squad leader had fallen and believing that he had been injured, Giunta exposed himself to withering enemy fi re and raced towards his squad leader, helped him to cover and administered medical aid. While administering fi rst aid, enemy fi re struck Giunta’s body armor and his secondary weapon. Without regard to the ongoing fi re, Giunta engaged the enemy before prepping and throwing grenades, using the explosions for cover in order to conceal his position. Attempting to reach additional wounded fellow soldiers who were separated from the squad, Giunta and his team encountered a barrage of enemy fi re that forced them to the ground. The team continued forward and upon reaching the wounded soldiers, Giunta realized that another soldier was still separated from the element. Giunta then advanced forward on his own initiative. As he crested the top of a hill, he observed two insurgents carrying away an American soldier. He immediately engaged the enemy, killing one and wounding the other. Upon reaching the wounded soldier, he began to provide medical aid, as his squad caught up and provided security.

For his extraordinary gallantry, unrivalled courage and selfless leadership in action on October 25, 2007, Giunta was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Barack Obama in a White House ceremony on November 16, 2010. Staff Sgt. Giunta was the fi rst living recipient of the Medal of Honor for service in Iraq or Afghanistan, the fi rst living service member to be awarded the Medal of Honor since the Vietnam War and the eighth service member to receive the nation’s highest military decoration for valor in Iraq and Afghanistan. His other military decorations include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal w/oak leaf cluster, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, two Army Good Conduct Medals and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal to name a few.

He retired from the Army in June 2011 and is the author of Living with Honor (2012). He currently resides in Colorado with his wife Jennifer Giunta and his daughter.

Known for incredible shot-making, mammoth drives, a hot pink shafted driver and an electric personality, Bubba Watson is a true all American superstar. Bubba grew up the small town of Bagdad Florida where he began the game of golf at age 6. He was given a cut down 9-iron from his father and learned to play the game by hitting wiffle-balls around the house. More interestingly, the only golf lesson Bubba received was from his father at a very young age and he has not had a lesson since. He is truly a self-taught golfer.

He continued working on his golf game through middle school and high school to earn himself a golf scholarship to

the University of Georgia where he helped lead the Bulldogs to an SEC title in 2000. In 2001, a year away from graduating, Bubba decided to turn professional and went on to lead the Tour in driving distance multiple years in a row. From humble beginnings to winning seven times on the PGA Tour, Bubba knows what it takes to succeed at the highest level. He takes great pride in his performance on the course and he works even harder off the course.

Bubba quickly recognized his responsibility as a role model to young kids and in 2008, without telling his family and friends, he decided to go back to the University of Georgia and complete his degree. Bubba wanted to be able to encourage kids to get an education and pursue their dreams and therefore felt it was important to set an example. Bubba and his wife, Angie are committed Christians who share a passion for philanthropy and dedicate as much time as possible to giving back. They are involved with multiple charities throughout the year and run several junior golf events. Both on and off the course, Bubba’s character exemplifies the strength and humility it takes to succeed in life.

How to Contribute

Jack Beckman NHRA Challenge Coin

“Fast Jack” Beckman has reached the pinnacle of the sport of NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing, winning championships in both the professional and sportsman ranks. Nevertheless, his current mission of raising awareness and funds for the Infinite Hero Foundation might be the most rewarding of his trackside achievements.

Since the Infinite Hero Foundation Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car hit the track at the sixth event of the season near Houston in April 2014, Beckman has been the pitchman for educating the NHRA community

on the foundation and cultivating funds via the sale of Infinite Hero challenge coins.

For the 2015 season, a new Infinite Hero Foundation challenge coin will debut that Beckman carries in his Don Schumacher Racing Funny Car on each lap down the track. He then signs the coins with the track location and speed of the pass. The coins are available for purchase trackside at Beckman’s IHF pit area or at the Oakley trailer for a $100 donation to Infinite Hero Foundation or if you make $100 or more donation online and email your receipt and shipping address to [email protected].

Beckman, Oakley and DSR are now making a limited number of coins available to fans who cannot attend an NHRA Mello Yello Series event. Beckman will personally sign and number five coins that made a lap from each of the events on the 2015 NHRA schedule. Those coins, along with an Infinite Hero Foundation shirt, will also be available for purchase on DSR’s ebay store (shoe_racing). http://www.gofastjack.com.
