2K GAMES is a subsidiary company of Take Two interactive after they bought visual concepts and Kush games from SEGA for 24 million US dollars the name ‘2K’ from visual concepts sports game series. The president of 2K games is Christoph Hartmann.

2K Games has a Integrated operating model, it produces, develops and publishes products itself as well as their subsidiary's doing that too, but being a subsidiary itself the owners (take two interactive) can use synergy to advertise 2K Games for free on other lines of its business.

As well as 2K Games being a subsidiary company, it also has lots of subsidiary companies itself such as Rockstar Games (the makers of the Grand Theft Auto series) as well as Pivotal Games (The makers of the conflict series) also Gearbox is a subsidiary of 2K games and they worked together on the Borderlands series

Products…2K Games are known for the production and development of well known games such as the Bioshock series as well as publishers for many other well known games.

Competition

2K Games is only a young and small company but is determined to compete with the bigger companies by releasing new games and developing their games so they can be played on more consoles, But 2K have a lot of competition in the market today some of these being big a famous companies for example Nintendo, Microsoft Games, Bethesda, Activision Blizzard, Infinity Ward, Capcom, SEGA and Electronic Arts (EA).

Being a smaller company with less money and less muscle so to say, 2K Games finds itself being overshadowed by the bigger companies but they are determined to be a main competitor in the game market.
