Have you ever dreamed of directing your very own film? The position of a director is very important and it is the driving creative force in a film's production. In order to succeed in this position, you will need to build successful relationship with production, technical and creative team to sure the production will run smooth. Working with the scriptwriters will help you visualise and structure the scenes. Once you become a director, you main duties are to help other production members who are working on casting, script editing and shot composition. They will need the guidance and your opinions on their ideas for the film. Directors are ultimately liable as to whether a film succeeds or fails in the market.

David Lynch is a famous American director who has worked with many notable people in the industry. He attended many arts schools during his youth in dodgy areas of Philadelphia. With all his hard work and dedication, David went onto director his first film Eraserhead. He started making one film to another, as he directed the film Elephant Head. Hair & Make-up jobs may sound very straightforward and gaining, as much experience is imperative. Once you have become an established hair & make-u artist, you will have to ensure that all performers look suitable and look good in front of cameras. In a way, it is a great opportunity for you to experiment your ideas or by working according to a specific brief. Normally, make-up artist’s work on there own or work with other members of the production, but it depends on the production.

Technical – Lighting Operator (Pre-production)

You will be expected to set lights according to the scene/location and then you will receive help from experienced electricians. While you work in this job role, the director of the film will give you the guidance as to how he wants the lights.
