IPOKRaTES TEACHING SEMINAR "Integrated Physiology: A conceptual approach to patient care" Prof. R. Schwartzstein, Prof. & Dean for Med. Education, Harvard Medical School Prof. J. Leiter, Prof. for Medicine & Physiology, Dartmouth Medical School Prof. H. L. Manning, Prof. for Medicine, Physiology & Anesthesiology, Dartmouth Med. School Program: This seminar aims at providing you with the possibility to learn about physiology in combination with clinical disciplines in all its facets while being coached by an excellent teacher. The emphasis of the course is pulmonology but many other aspects will be discussed as well. In small groups you will experience intensive teaching followed by in-depth discussions of relevant medical and pathophysiological problems. You will spend a whole week (9.00 am to 5.00 pm every day) in a fantastic atmosphere and learn together with enthusiastic people. Apart from the seminar work, which will consist of daily morning lectures, a visit of the pulmonology laboratories and bed-side teaching lessons, discussions and afternoon reviews, you will also have the opportunity to get to know your fellow students and your teachers during the evenings. To meet the requirements for this seminar you should be truly interested in everyday problems concerning patient care, have basic skills in bed-side examination techniques, basic knowledge in physiology and above all the will to work on your knowledge and skills. 24.- 28.
