Idyllic VenueSituated in the heart of the National Forest, Beehive Farm Woodland Lakes, Derbyshire, is, in our opinion, the perfect place for The Bushcraft Show. As you enter the showground on a level grassed area with purpose built tracks, surrounded by beautiful mixed woodland you will feel completely at home. It is a stunning location without a building in sight as you look toward the tranquil Horseshoe Lake.

In this most southerly part of rural Derbyshire, Beehive Farm Woodland Lakes offers visitors lots of fun ways to enjoy a very special corner of the National Forest. With over 65 acres of woodland to explore, filled with thriving wildlife, 3 fishing lakes and a family-friendly petting farm, combine this with all the activities, demonstrations, guest speakers, have-a-go sessions, woodland and meadow camping with open fires (exclusive to The Bushcraft Show) and this will be an adventure not to be missed.

The site is easy to reach from Derby, Burton, Lichfield, Tamworth, Leicester, Nottingham and Birmingham. You can even visit Beehive Farm Woodland Lakes prior to the show, to camp, fish or visit the children’s farm and see for yourself why the new location is such a firm favourite with families near and far.

‘Where your hunger for adventure grows’A few words from the organisers We are tremendously excited about The Bushcraft Show 2016 and all that we have planned and can’t wait for the coming months to pass until we see you there!

The Bushcraft Show has grown from strength to strength, attracting visitors, manufacturers and key figures in the industry who travel from all over the world, including USA, Canada, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Brazil and Australia. Many return year after year to enjoy the wide range of activities, the selection of trade stands offering both courses and equipment, and for the opportunity to network and make new friends. It is always delightful to see visitors with big smiles on their faces after attending the activities, booking courses to look forward to, and as they carry home new kit that they have treated themselves to.

As always we have sourced a host of great activities, talks and experts from around the world to teach, guide and inspire you. We are delighted that Ray Mears will be speaking on the main stage at The Bushcraft Show 2016.

Jason Ingamells, founder of Woodland Ways, attends many outdoors shows and has been to The Bushcraft Show every year since it started. He gave this great feedback about The Bushcraft Show 2015 “Another stonking great big year for us... We have had a great time... lots and lots of interactive demonstrations going on, it’s been an absolute joy! An amazing weekend... An incredible amount of people and based on the sales this year you can most definitely say we will be coming back next year!”

Let your hunger for adventure grow!

The Bushcraft Show Team

About the show…The Bushcraft Show was ‘born’ in 2011 and our launch event was greater than anyone expected and even better than we could have wished for. The following years saw a bigger show jam-packed with inspiring international speakers and informative fun activities and so The Bushcraft Show has established itself as a hugely popular annual event. Located at the same venue as last year in Rosliston, Derbyshire this year we have hired the whole 65 acre site providing more camping space, woodland to explore and two additional lakes for visitors to fish and canoe on.

Visitors enjoy a wide variety of timetabled activities from Falconry and Forging an axe, to Spoon Carving and Archery, there is also the opportunity to try Tracking, Open Canoeing, Woodland Games, Foraging for Wild Foods and so much more...

Over the years we have had an amazing line-up of industry experts including; TV Celebrity Bush Tucker Man, Les Hiddins, Discovery Channel’s, Dual Survivor – Cody Lundin, Deadly 60’s Steve Backshall, International Tracker Perry McGee, Swedish Military Legend – Johan Skullman, Ray Goodwin – pioneer of open canoeing in the UK, Dr Sarita Robinson – Senior Lecturer in Survival Psychology, International Tracker -David Scott-Donelan and the legend John ‘Lofty’ Wiseman, author of bestseller, The SAS Survival Handbook, Discovery Channel’s Survivorman – Les Stroud, Gabriel and Daniel Branby owners of Gränsfors Bruk, Stars of Discovery Channel’s Man, Woman, Wild – Mykel Hawke & Ruth England, Julia Kalthoff CEO of Wetterlings, Laura Bombier photographer to Les Stroud and many other prominent figures in the Bushcraft and Survival industry.

The show attracts more than 10,000 visitors, with over 250 timetabled demonstrations, activities, specialist instruction sessions and talks for visitors to participate in. A host of traders enjoy the show displaying a range of products from handmade tools to hi-tec base layers, camp cookware to the latest sleeping systems. In the evenings everyone joins together to enjoy the communal campfire, watch the fire twirler and listen to stories and folk and country music, perhaps enjoying a specially brewed Bushcraft Show Beer.

Whilst the event was initially aimed at bushcraft and survival enthusiasts, we are proud to have extended the show’s appeal to people of all ages with varied outdoor based interests.

Be a part of The Bushcraft Show 2016!

‘Where your hunger for adventure grows’2015

We’re sending out smoke signals…A smoke signal is one of the oldest forms of communication in recorded history. It is a form of visual communication used over long distance and we are committed to making The Bushcraft Show a huge success for the sixth year running, so over the coming months we will be making lots of smoke. Building upon the methods that we used to market the show in previous years we have devised a strategic marketing strategy that includes some of the elements listed here.

Testimonials

“Craghoppers are proud to be returning for the 4th year as sponsors of The Bushcraft Show. Over that time, we have seen the show grow from strength-to-strength. It is a great opportunity for us to meet our customers, knowing they are there for the same reasons we are - Fantastic celebrity guests and some amazingly talented people demonstrating skills that help us all enjoy our time outside that bit more. There’s something for everyone to do, see or learn whether new to bushcraft or a seasoned pro, all in a relaxed family friendly setting. We look forward to seeing you at The Bushcraft Show 2016.” Richard Marples, Craghoppers

‘’Come rain or shine The Bushcraft Show remains the biggest and most comprehensive show of its kind in the UK… Celebrities, kit, entertainment and an absolutely great

vibe... Something for everyone whether attending as an individual visitor or as a family!! Just about every big name on the bushcraft circuit attends, offering instruction, workshops and some of the best products available made by the most skilled hands. There’s plenty of space and a million

things to do and I most certainly intend to be back again for my third year in 2016! Thanks to the staff for running a great event!’’

Sonni, Beneath The Stars Leathercraft

“Over the years that we have been involved with The Bushcraft Show it has routinely attracted our target audience, allowing us to build relations with our customers and market ourselves to new customers that are into all things outdoors, not just bushcraft. For us it is a great family event meaning that there are plenty of Mini Adventurers there having fun!”

Ed Docwra, Mountain Munchkins Ltd

‘“The Bushcraft Show is a fantastic opportunity to get to meet and be amongst a gathering of enthusiastic and like-minded people, regardless of what the best of the British weather can throw at it! It always seems to bring the best

out of a fantastic Bushcraft community that is growing every year in the UK and abroad. Last year it was very noticeable that everyone was making the most of all

the activities and absorbing as much free information that everyone was giving out around

the showground. For us the interaction with people who had seen the demonstrations and gone away and honed their skills and to then show us what they had achieved was a real buzz. The real highlight was a family having their own spoon carving competition, which we got to judge, it was a hard choice and was amazing to see what can be achieved in a short time of practicing any of these great skills. Already looking forward to another great show and meeting old friends and new.”

Ben & Lois Orford:

“1948 Original Equipment are delighted to announce that once again they will be sponsoring The Bushcraft Show. The 2015 Show proved very successful for us and we thought the new venue worked exceptionally well. The Bushcraft Show attracts a very wide audience from around the UK and Europe and all are either experienced Bushcraft followers or those new to the lifestyle and eager to learn. What was noticeable for us about this show was the number of customers who contacted us before hand to check that we would be bringing certain items they wanted to see and buy. This enthusiasm demonstrated to us how popular and important this event is becoming to our customer base. We are already searching for new products and working with our partners like Frost River to have fresh innovative ideas and products to sell. The Bushcraft show is not one to be missed so put the date in your diary now.”

Andrew McRobb, 1948 Original Equipment

“Once again we have found The Bushcraft Show to be an invaluable way to meet with customers from near and far. It was great to meet up with existing customers and also welcome new ones into our fold. We have been exhibiting at The Bushcraft Show from the start and are pleased at how well they are organised and by how the numbers of attendees have grown; from the seasoned bushcrafter to the up and coming junior newbie who has just caught the bushcraft bug. The show covers all aspects of bushcraft that you know and allows you to try others that you don’t. We can’t wait for the next show.”
