CONFERENCE

HYATT REGENCY COCONUT POINT 5001 Coconut Rd ~ Bonita Springs, FL 34134

WCCP Board of Directors

Greetings: On behalf of the Association of Workers' Compensation Claims Professionals (WCCP) we welcome you to the 27th Annual Claims Management & Leadership Conference, as we learn the art of “Getting Beyond Great,” with three days of interactive Leadership and Technical workshops from the Industries' top executives, medical and legal professionals. After enjoying a night of catching up with friends and colleagues at our Sunday Evening Chairman’s Reception, join us on Monday morning as we announce the recipient of our Annual WCCP “Rising Star” Award. The Rising Star award recognizes a senior level adjuster, or newly appointed supervisor, who exemplifies the professionalism to reach that next level in their career to become “Tomorrow’s Leader”. We are also excited to congratulate Meghan Sorg, and Jasmine Green, this year’s Fran Brown Scholarship recipients. On Monday, after a great day of interactive leadership and technical workshops, meet us on the Cypress Courtyard for a “friendly” game of volleyball at the WCCP’s sponsored tournament, and our 2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament. If playing isn’t your thing, you can join us poolside to cheer for your favorite team while munching and sipping on a frozen concoction. As we begin our conference planning each year, we are reminded that only through the generous support of our sponsors, the time and talents of our speakers, and the WCCP Board of Director’s, that this program is made possible. We also recognize in today’s business climate, the decision that our attendees make to invest in their own leadership development is not a small sacrifice and for that we appreciate your commitment. With added certification credits, which now includes HR General Credits, we hope to continue to meet the educational and certification needs of our industry. We hope you’ll consider the value this conference has for other managing claims, medical, legal and human resource professionals within your organization and encourage them to join you next year. Sincerely,

Tuesday Keynote: Phil Gwoke, BridgeWorks Tuesday, June 12th, 2018

Business is being rocked by a powerful generation that is going to comprise 75% of the global workforce by 2025.

Millennials (born 1980-1995) – the first generation to rival Baby Boomers in population size – are showing up at work with their own set of attitudes, expectations and values. Tech-savvy and ambitious, they’re bringing with

them an entirely new way of doing business. How prepared are Gen Xers, Baby Boomers and Traditionalists to manage them? Phil is sure to leave you with many take-a-way's on just how to "Break into the Millennial Mind."

Thank You to Those Who Participated in this year’s Golf Tournament!

Tournament proceeds this year will benefit one of our own, Diane Mummaw, in her fight against ALS. There's still time to

donate throughout the conference by visiting the WCCP Registration desk.

Irwin’s experience encompasses handling matters at each stage of federal and state litigation, from discovery to trial, as well as appeals and post-trial collection proceedings. Drawing on decades of experience, Irwin works with clients to streamline the litigation process, eliminating unnecessary expenses that are all too common in complex litigation. Irwin’s clients have included banks, investment firms, executives, and celebrities, legal professionals, and Fortune 500 companies. In some of his more groundbreaking decisions, Irwin reigned in fiduciaries who had exceeded their powers, including court appointed guardians and Assignees for the Benefit of Creditors. Irwin has also protected business clients from lawsuits, including class action, antitrust matters and trade secrets cases. In some of these cases, more than one hundred million dollars was at risk. Irwin has a wide range of experience practicing throughout the United States and has litigated cases in Great Britain and Japan. His original training was in antitrust and unfair competition, defending companies in Robinson Patman and price fixing conspiracy cases. He also currently serves as Chairman of the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar’s Antitrust & Trade Regulation Subcommittee and also as Vice-Chair of the Florida Bar’s Business Litigation Committee.
