Probash Bangla Friday 01 Feb-14 Feb 2013 26 NEW DIVISIONAL COMMANDER FOR OLDHAM Oldham Division is welcoming a new Chief Superintendent as the Divisional Commander for the area. Catherine Hankinson takes on the role follow- ing the departure of Tim Forber who will be taking over new responsibilities and remains part of Greater Manchester Police. Catherine is a familiar face to the Division having been in the role of Superintendent responsible for operations. Prior to this she was responsible for partnership working, criminal justice and neighbourhood policing and has worked on the Division for three years. She has 17 years of experience in police and previous roles have included; Chief Inspector at South Manchester Division, Force Duty Officer and Chief Constable’s Staff Officer. Chief Superintendent Catherine Hankinson said: “My time as Superintendent here in Oldham has allowed me the opportunity to gain a breadth of knowledge and experience on the issues and concerns of the community. I hope that through this new role I will be able to increase this understanding and build on Tim’s success. “Over the last three years crime in Oldham has reduced by 23 per cent and antisocial behaviour by 45 per cent.” “Over the next couple of months I will continue with our high profile campaign to ensure organised criminals no longer profit from their life of crime and that the assets we seize from them are ploughed back into community initiatives. Over the last three years crime in Oldham has reduced by 23 per cent and antisocial behaviour by 45 per cent. I am committed to continuing to reduce crime and to give victims the excellent service they deserve from the police.” Outgoing Chief Superinten- dent, Tim Forber, said: “It has been a pleasure to be in the role of commander for Oldham. Ghulam Raza, 32, is wanted after a woman was raped in the Oldham area on Friday 26 September 2008. He is known to have links in Oldham, Manchester and London.
