Registered in the State Register for

Measuring Instruments Registration No.: RB0307568815

The devices are manufactured acc. to the technical documentation of KSR KUEBLER Niveau-Messtechnik AG, Germany.

INTENDED USE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION

Magnetostrictive liquid-level sensing devices FFG (hereinafter referred to as „level sensing devices“) are intended to be used for measuring liquid levels in tanks and for converting measured data into unified analogue output signals of 4-20 mA /НАRТ. Field of application: systems for automatic control, regulation and supervision of manufacturing processes, including those ones in explosion-hazardous environments, at enterprises of chemical and oil-refining, food-processing and pharmaceutical industry, as well as in other also non-commercial fields.

DESCRIPTION

The level sensing device comprises a level sensor and the measuring transmitter, which is either integrated into the terminal box of the level sensor or attached separately. The level sensing device can also include the following additional components: sensor of level limit values, intermediary protection relays, power unit, power supply, LCD display. The operating principle of the level sensing device is based on magnetostriction. The float with a permanent magnet moves along the sliding tube (guide tube) of the level sensor. A wire, made of magnetostrictive material, is fixed in the guide tube and produces magnetic field at its whole length induced by current impulses. Another magnetic field, induced by the magnet of the float, exists only at the float position. The interaction of both fields generates a torque, which induces the turn of the wire at the position of the float. Current impulses, which are triggered to the guide tube, generate mechanical torsion impulses, which propagate along the guide tube. Mechanical impulses are converted by means of a piezoceramic converter into output electric signals. The time delay between these signals and respective initiating impulses defines the position of the float.

There are three versions of the level sensing devices: - Version FFG-P (basic version): The level sensor is made of stainless steel (polypropylene,

polyvinylidene fluoride), stainless steel coated with Ethylene ChloroTriFluoroEthylene or with teflon. The level sensor is connected with a thread or flange.

- Version FFG-T: The level sensor is made of stainless steel and is intended to be used for measurements of liquid levels in food-processing and pharmaceutical industries.

- Bypass versions FFG-BP and FFG-BT: The level sensor is made of stainless steel and is intended to be used for mounting on bypass tubes.

Explosion-protection level and intrinsic safety protection: 0ЕхiаIIСТ4-Т6Х, 1ЕхdIIСТ6-Т4Х. The physical form of the level sensors is shown in Fig. 1 The chart, which indicates the position of the examination label and sealing, is given in Annex A to the type description.
