If I wanted to be successful, I had to learn from the best. I needed to hear their stories. How theystarted. How they grew. How they are building their empires right now. And I needed to hear it straightfrom their mouths.

Philip Hartman, 15Young Inventor of the YearPhilip is a homeschooled high school senior at the ripe age of 15. He won the 2008 Young Inventor ofthe Year award for inventing a new system for fusing optical fibers. His latest invention emits steamonto a windshield and is capable of defrosting a frostcovered windshield in about 15 seconds.

Emil Motycka, 21From ‘Mow Boy’ to $135KEmil owns a company which provides work for about 65 people in Northern Colorado. MotyckaEnterprises offers everything from building and janitorial maintenance to lawn care, tree care, snowremoval, and even Christmas light installation. Emil earned $135,000 his senior year of high school.

Lauren Amarante, 21World Entrepreneurship DayLauren cofounded World Entrepreneurship Day (WED) as a sophomore at Arizona State University.WED’s first celebration of entrepreneurship, in 2009, was a huge success with 22 countries

participating. Since then, WED has partnered with the United Nations to scale it to 35 countries in 2010.

Jacob Cass, 22Inspired Designer for HireJacob nabbed his first freelance job at the age of sixteen and in November 2007 he started a websiteand blog dedicated to his business, Just Creative Design. He immediately began raking in clients,awards, and recognition. In January 2010, Jacob received a prestigious job offer from his Twitteraccount.

Andrew Fashion, 22Made and Lost $2.5 MillionAndrew had dropped out of high school in 2005 and started developing websites. After months of justscraping by, Andrew hit it big. He was pulling in $100,000+ checks every month. But after a few yearsof living the high life, the revenue stream dried up and Andrew went from being a millionaire to being indebt.

About Nick TartNick Tart is a 23yearold alumnus of Colorado State University living in fabulousFort Collins, CO.

Nick’s entrepreneurial journey started when he was 12 years old with a 2 1/2 hourlawn mowing escapade. This one lawn turned into a few per week and he washooked! After running a semisuccessful lawn service for 6 years, Nick enrolledat CSU to learn more about his passion for business.

Through his education at CSU Nick realized he didn’t know as much about business as he thought. Hadhe known everything he learned at CSU, he could’ve ran a much more successful lawn mowing service.As part of the Entrepreneurship Program, Nick developed an idea for a business that teaches aboutbusiness. And JuniorBiz was born.
