Preparing the first aid kit for your baby is very essential because it is very useful in case of unexpected injuries. Here is the list of essential items that a baby needs in his/her first aid kit.

Acetaminophen in liquid form for minor aches and pains.

Essential baby oils & baby lotions. It can be an optional choice.

Cream for diaper rash.

Rubbing alcohol. This can be very helpful for cord care.

Nasal aspirator for blocked noses.

Ipecac syrup if your baby has swallowed any potentially poisonous substance.

Cotton balls.

Rectal thermometer.

Baby scissors that have rounded points.

Petroleum jelly.

Diaper pail along with a disinfectant. This can be useful if you use a cloth diaper.

Plastic garbage bags if you use disposable diapers, to line the diaper pail.

Diaper liners as they are very helpful in the early weeks if you launder diapers at home.

Baby shampoo.

Baby washcloths.

Bath towels.

Baby brush or comb.

A vaporizer, a cool mist type. It is an optional one.

Baby soap, preferably mild & liquid.

Baby wipes, essential during travel.

Baby decongestant for blocked nose, used only for the babies of above 3 months of age.

Arnica cream for treating bumps and bruises.

An oral syringe calibrated with milliliter marker to measure & administer liquid medicine.

Adhesive bandages in different sizes.

Saline drops to loosen the mucus in a stuffy nose.
