NEWSLETTER

Chancellor’s Message

Dr. P. D. Patil

Dear Students,

Welcome to this edition of DPU’s newsletter. We had a great run in the last couple of months. Though we were in the thick of COVID 19 pandemic, our students and staff didn’t let their spirits be dampened by the ongoing crisis and gloom. They were determined and they kept walking towards their goals and dreams. No doubt, it isn’t easy living the new normal. Looking at their verve and energy reminds me of Lao Tzu’s saying, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” Our students and staff have proven that it is important to keep going, not be afraid, to dream big, and to have goals.

The Newsletter features DPU’s progress as a whole. The Vidyapeeth has been progressing in academics as well as in extracurricular activities and celebrated many milestones. The Vidyapeeth has grown in stature and strength and has become one of the finest education institutions dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and excellence. Here, we have always encouraged our students to reach for the stars. We try to bring out the inherent qualities latent in them. The formal and informal, tangible and intangible, activities together prepare our students for real-life and strengthen their personal skills. To make each student reach their target, we have left no stone unturned.

The Newsletter chronicle the progress and the outstanding achievements that DPU has garnered in the last couple of months. It highlights the quality of education and the extracurricular activities that the Vidyapeeth had undertaken to develop the all-around personality of the students. I am sure the students of DPU will benefit to a large extent from the Newsletter.

I wish the Principal, Deans, Directors, Staff, and students of DPU the very best.

As the visionary, late Hon’ble President APJ Abdul Kalam said,” Learning gives to creativity. Creativity leads to thinking. Thinking provides knowledge. Knowledge makes you great.” Let the quality education that we impart to students at DPU enlighten minds and inspire our students to always aim high and achieve excellence.

NEWSLETTER

Editor's Desk

Dr. (Mrs.) Smita Jadhav

Dear Students,

Welcome!!!

Since our last DPU Newsletter, quite a lot has transpired. Another year and then some have passed, and we are here today, looking back in a year full of passages. The COVID-19 pandemic has become a new reality in our lives. However, it gave us an opportunity to CHANGE, to REINVENT ourselves, and to APPLY this re-invention to what we love. And we at DPU have been doing just that. We have always believed in ourselves and our goals. We are willing to take risks, have challenged ourselves, and have overcome many obstacles. We have made the best use of the resources that have been available to us. As Martin Luther King Jr said, “ If you can’t fly, run. If you can't run, walk. If you can't walk, crawl. No matter what, keep moving.” DPU has been forging its own path and plotting a new course. We consider that problems are not the stop signs, they are the direction maps.

This year too, we have surmounted various obstacles and have scored many goals and achieved many milestones. But we have always remained committed to excellence in teaching, learning, and research, and to developing leaders who have made a difference globally. And we are still continuing with this endeavor. Faculty and students are always busy and active, pursuing interests and challenges, and watching life’s carousel turn.

This Newsletter highlights the academic and co-curricular activities, achievements, and progress made by the students of the various Institutes of DPU. We hope you enjoy catching up, learning about the many facets of the Vidyapeeth.

It will give you a peek at the achievements and progress in the various streams like humanities, natural sciences, social sciences. The wide spectrum of articles in different sections gives me a sense of pride that our students and professors possess the creative potential and original thinking in ample measures. Each article is entertaining, interesting, and absorbing. In the pages, you will also get a glimpse of creative pursuits like visual and performing arts.

We would like to congratulate the students whose papers are published in this issue of the Newsletter and simultaneously encourage all the students to contribute their research papers and articles for the successive issues of the Newsletter.

We look forward to keeping you posted on our progress on each of these vital fronts, and on the remarkable accomplishments of our students, faculty, and alumni. For everyone else, do good work, aim higher, and achieve your goals in life. As Saint Mother Theresa said...

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it. Life is bliss, taste it. Life is a

challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfill

it. Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a

tragedy, confront it. Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it. Life is too precious, do

not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it.
