When youʹre studying away from home,you may not be protected against thecosts of a medical emergency.

If you are a Canadian studying abroad or in anotherCanadian province/territory, or if you are a non-Canadianstudying in Canada, Manulife Financial Travel Insurancefor Students is your way to get coverage for up to$1 million in benefits if a medical emergencystrikes unexpectedly.

Manulife Financial Travel Insurance for Students alsooffers a reimbursement of your tuition costs, (up to$5,000 per semester), if you cannot complete yourstudies due to an unexpected medical emergency. Alsoincluded is coverage for non-emergency costs, forannual medical exams, eye examinations and pregnancy.

But your protection doesn’t stop there! Your coveragealso includes Accidental Death and Dismembermentbenefits of up to $10,000 at no additional cost.

You can also purchase coverage for your eligible spouseand dependant children who are living with you.

Eligibility

• A Canadian who is covered under a Canadianprovincial/territorial government health insuranceplan1 and who is temporarily living outside Canadaas a full-time student or as a spouse or dependantof a full-time student is eligible to apply for coverageas an Outbound Student.

• A Canadian who is covered under a Canadianprovincial/territorial government health insuranceplan1 and who is temporarily living in a Canadianprovince/territory other than their homeprovince/territory as a full-time student or as a spouseor dependant of a full-time student is eligible to applyfor coverage as a National Student.

• A non-Canadian who is temporarily living in Canadaas a full-time student or as a spouse or dependant ofa full-time student is eligible to apply for coverage asan Inbound Student.

It’s your responsibility to ensure continued coverage,where applicable, under the provincial/territorialgovernment health insurance plan of theprovince/territory where you permanently reside.

All applicants must be under the age of 55.

Post-doctoral research students are consideredfull-time students.

Full-time students enrolled in a recognized institute oflearning can apply for coverage any time to be effectivewithin 30 days prior to commencing a semester.

A student card with student number and enrollmentdates or an enrollment invoice is also required as proofof enrollment with any claim submission.

A person is NOT eligible for coverage if he/sheanswers “Yes” to ANY of the following questions:

• Has a physician advised you against travel?

• Do you require kidney dialysis?

• Have you have used home oxygen at anytime during the 12 months prior to the dateof application?

• Have you have been diagnosed with a terminalillness with less than two years to live?

Emergency Medical Insurance Manulife Financial Travel Insurance for Students provides Emergencyand Non-emergency coverage up to an overall maximum sum of$1,000,0002 per insured for the following services:

Medical Insurance Up to the maximum sum for the following hospital and physician expenses:- up to 60 days of hospitalization per injury or illness- up to 30 days of hospitalization for psychiatric treatment- up to 5 follow-up visits with a physician- plus diagnostic services and medical appliances

$5,000 for psychiatrist fees

Private Duty Nurse Up to $10,000

Ambulance Services Up to $5,000 per unrelated illness or injury

Paramedical Services Up to $500 per profession

Prescription Drugs Up to 30 days supply of prescription medication

Dental Expenses Up to $2,500 for accidental injuryUp to $100 for relief of painUp to $250 per extracted wisdom tooth

Bringing Family to Your Bedside Return airfare up to $3,000Up to $150 per day, to a maximum of $1,500, for living expenses

Trauma Counselling Up to 6 sessions of trauma counselling

Emergency Evacuation Home Up to $100,000

Repatriation of Mortal Remains Up to $3,000

Tuition Reimbursement Up to $5,000 per semester

Trip Break Return home to attend special events for up to 21 consecutive days

Non-Emergency Medical Insurance

Annual Medical Exam Up to $100 per year

Eye Examination Up to $150, one visit per year

Maternity Benefit Up to $20,000

Accidental Death And Dismemberment3 Up to $10,000

Travel Outside of Canada Emergency medical coverage (applicable to Inbound Students andNational Students only); Up to the lesser of: 15 consecutive days or49% of your period of coverage

Travel Insurance for Students can cover you around the clock, anywherein the world.
