    0.25-0.35: Swishing sound followed by a sound bridge of the phoneringing, can opening and Dr Nashs voice.

    0.35-0.45: Swishing sound with montage and crescendo of music as shereplays a video diary entry.

    0.45-0.51: Music becomes the main focus as it is the same volume as DrNashs voice.

    0.53-1.00 : Flashback to the accident sound bridge of the scream in theaccident to waking up in bed.

    1.00-1.06: Sound bridge of conversation about Ben hiding her past whilstthe screen is showing Christine walking whilst reading papers.

    1.07-1.19: Sound of a deep breath bridged with the line How can I trust

    Christine (Nicole Kidman) is portrayed to beparanoid and trapped by her mind and thoughtsthrough the opening extreme close up of theeye.

    Ben (Colin Firth) comes across as concernedabout Christine through his dull tone of voicewhen talking to her and worried facialexpressions.

    Dr Nash (Mark Strong) is introduced asprofessional due to his tone of voice in thetrailer sounding formal during the phone call,showing the care he has towards trying to helpher.

    Many fade to blacks are used tointroduce the new sequences of shots forexample at the beginning after theextreme close ups of Christines eye.

    A fade to white transition is used as thecar goes through the tunnel which couldbe representative of Christine entering anew stage of her life and getting closerto resolving the mystery of the accidentwhich caused her amnesia.

    The extreme close up of the eye is alsoused as a transition at 1.08 furthercreating the sense of claustrophobiawhich was introduced in the first shot.

    The pace of the edit starts slowly due to thewhispering (non-diegetic sound) and quickensafter the montage of clips from the incident suchas the bottle being picked up.

    The pace then gets steadily faster as the musicbuilds.

    With every flashback throughout the trailerthere is an increase in pace which keeps theaudience intrigued and wanting to know moreabout the film.

    There is an extreme increase in pace towardsthe end of the trailer especially after the lineDont trust anyone, due to the crescendo ofsound and the fast pace of shots.
