FENDI CASA HOMECOLLECTION
FENDI CASA “dresses”the home is a way thatis quite similar to howthe brand designs itsclothing and accessories.
The House of FENDI was born in 1925, with the establishment of its
first handbag shop and fur workshop on Via del Plebiscito, in
Rome. The new FENDI business, headed up by the young couple
Edoardo and Adele Fendi, immediately won widespread acclaim for the
quality of its products. For the Roman bourgeoisie, a trip to “Fendi on the
Plebiscito” was to become an outing of certain prestige. As the business
grew, the fur workshops were expanded and in the 1930s and ‘40s, the
FENDI name, which was already well known in Rome, became famous
outside of the Italian capital as well.

In 1946, Edoardo and Adele’s five daughters also began working for the family
business, each bringing new energy and ideas to the table. A few years later, the
Fendi sisters met a rising young star who was making a stir on the Paris design
circuit: namely, Karl Lagerfeld. In the hands of Lagerfeld, a veritable fashion
revolution took place, and gave birth to “double F” design.
Over the years, FENDI continued to expand, adding prêt-a-porter collections
to its production, re-creating FENDI BAGS and advancing, slowly but surely,
on its creative path and with much deserved success. Its crowning recognition
came when the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome opened its doors to
celebrate the trademark’s 60th anniversary and to mark the 20-year
collaboration between the firm and Karl Lagerfeld. The resulting exhibition
was called “FENDI – Karl Lagerfeld, A Working History“.
FENDI CASA
In 1989, the firm created FENDI CASA HOME COLLECTION, as a natural
outgrowth of the development of this great Italian trademark—and an
important new chapter in its history. Its first collection was launched in
cooperation with Club House Italia, a company founded by Alberto Vignatelli
in 1970 and specializing in upholstered furniture and related raw materials.
The idea was to “dress” the home is a way that was quite similar to how Fendi
designed its clothing and accessories. So it was that a new concept in home
outfitting emerged, conceived as the rediscovery of an everyday habitat to be
stylishly customized, focusing, for the most part, on materials like fox,
mink, sheepskin and zibeline, often used with plaids and cushions, and
characterized by outstanding craftsmanship and high-fashion details,
including the renowned “double-F” logo, and unique Spy Bag fastener.
More recently, Fendi Casa has shown its creative vitality by landing a
contract to design the interior appointments for the new Crn 128‘ yacht,
