4Convention InformationContinuing Education (CE) and Pharmacology Accreditation:

AANP Approval: This activity is approved 18.5 contact hour(s) of continuing education (which includes 8.42 hours of pharmacology) by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Activity ID 17082798. This activity was planned in accordance with AANP CE Standards and Policies.

OKBON Approval: This program is approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing for 22.1 pharmacology hours.

CE credit will only be given for lectures and educational activities that are attended in their entirety. Attendee name badges contain an small radio frequency tag that is scanned by readers at each lecture entry door. Attendees must wear their name badges to be properly scanned and your attendance logged. Badges do NOT read in a pocket, purse or bag. Please utilize the lanyard and WEAR the NAME BADGE throughout the conference so we accurately record your attendance.

Evaluations:

Individual session evaluations will be available on the AONP website’s activities page (npofoklahoma.com) and must be completed by each attendee. The online evaluations will not be visible on the Activities page of the AONP website until after the lecture begins.

Kori Dewing is an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Nursing, Department of Biobehavioral Nursing and Informatics; lecturing, training and mentoring nurse practitioner students. Dr. Dewing received her graduate education through the University of Washington, earning her Masters in Nursing in 2003 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice, in 2011. She has been practicing as an adult rheumatology nurse practitioner for 14 years treating patients with psoriatic arthritis and other autoimmune rheumatologic conditions. Christopher Gordon is an acute care nurse practitioner with seven years of clinical experience working in critical care. He received his master’s in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, where he is currently a clinical associate for their Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP program.

He began his career working at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in the Heart and Vascular ICU, where he specialized in cardiothoracic surgery, heart failure, ARDS, and mechanical circulatory support. In 2014, Christopher moved to Oklahoma with two Intensivist physicians to help further build and grow an ECMO program at Integris Baptist Medical Center. Susie was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Critical Care Medicine in January 2011 making her one of less than 250 nurses internationally and the only nurse in Oklahoma to have achieved this status. Leah was born and raised in Oklahoma. Her dream was to be an Equine Surgeon but life had another calling for her. She studied Nursing at UCO and graduated, with honors, in 2002. Leah worked as a critical care nurse in the Burn ICU and general ICU before returning to the University of Michigan for her Masters In Nurse Practitioner. After graduating with honors from U of M in 2012, she worked in an Endocrinology clinic caring for patients with Diabetes. After traveling to London and touring the Florence Nightingale Museum, Leah returned home with a goal of advocating for access to care for Oklahomans and opened a clinic in Norman specializing in caring for patients with Diabetes. Along with her certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, she holds a specialty board certification from the American Association of Diabetic Educators in Advanced Diabetes Management.

When not in her clinic, you can find her riding her favorite Tennessee Walking Horse, Mac, or enjoying the antics of the smartest equines in her pasture, her donkeys, Gracie and Mumsford.

Dr. Cody Yochum is a native Oklahoman and works at St. John Medical Center, in Tulsa, as one of the ICU Hospitalists. Dr. Yochum holds a graduate nursing degree and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Dr. Yochum has worked in Emergency Medicine, Nephrology and Critical Care during his career; frequently guest lectures and assists in clinical training of nurse practitioner students as well as medical residents during their ICU rotations.
