The Ice-Breaker“Nobody succeeds beyond his or her

wildest expectations unless he or she begins with some wild expectations.” – Ralph Charell

“Only the mediocre die always at their best. Real leaders are always improving – and raising their bar on how superbly they can perform and how quickly they can move.” – Jean Giraudoux

The Human RegretsWhat about reaching your last day thinking: You did not awaken your natural power and

never inspired anyone else by your examples? You never took bold risks and so never received

any bright rewards because you bought in the lie that you had to be resigned to mediocrity?

You discover that you could leave this world better than you found it but you were too scared to accept this mission?

AND YOU WASTED A LIFE

4

Page 5: 23.59

The Human VictoriesWhat about reaching your last day realizing that:You are all used up – having used the best of

yourself in each thing that you did and realized your highest visions?

You built people up instead of being one who tore people down and added value to the lives of people you were lucky to serve?

You explored new trails instead of following old roads thus leaving a genuine legacy behind that will endure long after your death?

AND A LEGEND IS BORN 5

Page 6: 23.59

The Proposed PathWould you lead a mediocre life – coasting

through life and succumbing to the curse of small, daily neglect or would you choose the higher road – stand for leadership, excellence and enthusiasm within your work?

It is obvious that you will prefer to tread the extra mile. Hence, I will be sharing with you 4 amazing rituals that you can integrate in your life for you to realize your inner genius.

6

Page 7: 23.59

Ritual One : You Need No Title to be a LeaderThe 5 Rules Innovation - It is all about making this day better

than yesterday by constantly reinventing yourself along the way. Treading on old roads may be a good way to get into trouble amid the present unpredictable conditions.

Mastery - Raise the expectations you set for yourself. Just make the commitment to be the first, the most, the only and the best in each thing you do. Walking on the extra mile is indeed easier since little people are prepared to do so. There is little competition and wonderful possibility out there.

7

Page 8: 23.59

Authenticity - Dr Seuss rightly pointed out : “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” And how to forget Oscar Wilde who noted : “Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.” The real key is not to forget yourself on the way to the top.

Guts - Everyone of us has at our core a well of courage just begging to be tapped. All you have to do is to use it and you will have the determination and character needed to tread the extra mile.

8

Page 9: 23.59

Ethics - You will never go wrong in doing what’s right, my friends. The way you do anything is the way you will do everything. Be honest, highly dependable and treat people the right way. Nothing should be more important than maintaining a good reputation.

9

Page 10: 23.59

Ritual Two : Turbulent Times Build Great LeadersThe 5 RulesSpeak with Candor - Be candid. Be forthright and

spectacularly honest. Telling the truth, and nothing but the naked truth; promotes trust and respect for you. Always communicate in a way that’s strikingly direct and real.

Prioritize - 80% of our results come from 20% of our activities. Get intimately and acutely connected with those few and previous practices that generate the vast majority of your results. And then get really, really good at doing those few things. The latter is commonly known as the 80/20 Rule.

10

Page 11: 23.59

Adversity Breeds Opportunity - The key isn’t whether you will face challenges. You will. The real key is what you’ll do with difficulties and how quickly you’ll get up. Helen Keller rightly said: “We could never learn to be brave and patient if there was only joy in the world.”

Respond versus React - A lot of people waste all their time being reactive. They become part of the problem rather than showing leadership by becoming the source of the solution. Stop worrying about all the things you can’t control and dedicate yourself to improving the areas you can control. Take initiative.

11

Page 12: 23.59

Kudos for Everyone - Go through every day of the rest of your life being one of those individuals who encourages the efforts of others, who looks for what’s good in people, and who applauds even the smallest positive act they do. Be the one who builds people up.

12

Page 13: 23.59

Ritual Three : Opt for Deeper Relationships The 5 Rules : Helpfulness - Always do more than you are

asked to do. Your compensation will always be a direct function of your contribution.

Understanding - Be masterful at appreciating people. One of the deepest of all human hungers is the hunger to be understood. We all have a voice inside us and want to express it. You really honor someone by giving them great listening. Speak less and listen more.

13

Page 14: 23.59

Mingle - Be out there connecting with your teammates and networking with your customers. Theodore Roosevelt rightly pointed out: “The most important single ingredient in the formula of success is knowing how to get along with people.”

Amuse - Most of us thinks work needs to be so serious. We’re afraid of being perceived as being unproductive if we have some fun even at the right time. This would in fact help to reduce stress levels and increase productivity.

14

Page 15: 23.59

Nurture - Leave every single person who intersects your path better, happier and more engaged than you found them. Help people get their goals and people will help you get every single one of yours.

15

Page 16: 23.59

Ritual Four : First Become a Great PersonThe 5 Rules : See clearly - Every one of us has flaws in our

perception. We see the world not as it is but as we are. You were in fact made to think brilliantly and see through the eyes of possibility rather than think badly and see through the eyes of fears.

Health is Wealth – When we are young we sacrifice our health for wealth. But when we become old and wise, we become willing to sacrifice every bit of our wealth for just a day of good health.

16

Page 17: 23.59

Inspiration Matters - A day without feeling inspired is a day that you haven’t fully lived. You need to refill your well of inspiration everyday, because the challenges of life will drain it everyday.

Neglect Not Your Family - Your loved ones matter. What’s the point of becoming super-successful but ending up completely alone? A solid foundation at home sets you up for strong and solid results at work.

17

Page 18: 23.59

Elevate Your Lifestyle - Become great in the work you do, awaken your inner leader, and most certainly express your absolute best. And enjoy life along the way. The real key is to get the things you want while making sure they don’t get you. Success is not about what you receive. Success is all about what you return. All the things we spend the best of our lives chasing really don’t matter so much. All that we really need once our lives get to the end doesn’t amount to much more than about six feet of soil. What truly counts then is what we will leave behind – our legacy.

00:00 - The Time For Action Anthropologist Margaret Mead once observed:

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Now the choice is yours – A life of mediocrity or The Extra Mile.

ARE YOU READY TO CHANGE THE WORLD?
