Los Sacramentos En el Sacramento de la Reconciliación, se nos ofrece el amor y perdón de Dios siempre que queramos regresar a Él. Él nos perdona, nos abraza y celebra que quera-mos estar con Él y ser mejores.

The Sacraments In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we are offered the forgiveness and the love of God whenever we want to return to him. He always forgives, embraces us, and cele-brates that we want to be with him and be better.

You are there (Luke 15:1-32) ♦ How are these stories similar? Do think the characters are sort of

crazy for leaving everything they have to go and seek what they had lost and then celebrating so much? What do you think Jesus is trying to say through these stories?

Jesus, your friend, invites you:

♦ Jesus says that God always rejoices when people return to him after being lost or far away. Do you think when you regret having done something wrong Jesus forgives you and waits for you to embrace you.

What am I going to do?

Speak to Jesus and tell him about sometimes when you felt you were far form someone’s affection. Tell him how you felt. Tell Jesus what you would like to do this week: ♦ For example: I will ask for forgiveness if I have done

something wrong, knowing that Jesus always forgives and cele-brates.

♦ For example: I will thank God, who always waits for me with open arms.

The Joy Of Finding What Was Lost ♦ La Alegría De Encontrar Lo Perdido Para los niños

Q: Q: Jesus told about the shepherd who lost one of his 100 sheep and left behind the other 99 to look for it. Have you ever been lost or run away? Like the shepherd, Jesus is always willing to look and wait for you. P: Jesús habló del pastor que perdió una de sus 100 ovejas y dejo a las 99 para buscarla. ¿Alguna vez te perdido o ido de la casa? 1. Let's talk: ♦ Have we lost something important this week? Have we found something we had lost? How have we felt when someone we had almost “erased” from our list has re-turned? 2. Read together the story on the children's page and the Bible readings for today 3. Message for our family this week

♦ The people forget that God took them out of Egypt and they built a golden idol for themselves. God, however, forgives them be-cause Moses pleads with him.

♦ Paul acknowledges that he needs the salvation of Christ offered to all sinners.

♦ The shepherd , the woman, and the father, need to share their joy at having found what had been lost. Joy is contagious and it is the best way to transmit our faith.

4. What is going on in our lives? ♦ Do we easily forgive those that seem to go astray and estranged

from us or the community? What would we do if one of our children decided to leave home?

♦ What do we seek? In terms of family relationships or family values, what do we feel we have lost in the last few weeks? Have we lost any material things? Is it something we can get back?

♦ Have you ever felt far away from a loved person, and you think it is impossible to return to a good relationship? What is stopping you from returning to that person.

5. What our faith teaches us: The experience of God’s free love make it possible for us to celebrate throughout our lives. We do this, not out of ignorance of evil or pain in the world, but out of a sense of deep gratitude for all of our blessings. The mercy that God so generously offers becomes a demand for us: we, too, need to forgive and celebrate when someone returns.

4. ¿Qué pasa en nuestra vida? ♦ ¿Perdonamos con facilidad a quienes parecen que se alejan

de nosotros? ¿Qué haríamos si uno de nuestros hijos deci-diera marcharse de la casa?

♦ ¿Qué buscamos con mayor interés? ¿Qué sentimos que hemos perdido, tanto material, como de relaciones o valores familiares? ¿Es algo que podemos recuperar? ¿Cómo?

♦ ¿Alguna vez te has sentido lejos de un ser querido y has pensado que es imposible restablecer un buena relación?

5. Lo que nos enseña nuestra fe: La experiencia del amor gratuito de Dios es lo que hace posible que hagamos fiesta en toda nuestra vida. No por ignorancia del mal o del dolor, sino porque toda nuestra vida termina en acción de gracias. La misericordia que Dios ofrece, tan generosamente se convierte en un exigencia para nosotros: también nosotros tenemos que perdonar y celebrar cuando alguien regresa.

The Joy Of Finding What Was Lost ♦ La Alegría De Encontrar Lo Perdido

PERDIDO Y ENCONTRADO Bienvenido al “¡Domingo perdido y encontrado!” En caso de que al estar en la iglesia nos haga considerar sentirnos orgullos de ser religiosos, el Evangelio de hoy sugiere que sería más prudente admitir que algunas veces estamos perdidos. Para luego en última instancia estar felizmente contados entre los “encontrados” por Jesús, porque Jesús hoy se enfoca en una oveja perdida, una moneda perdida, un hijo perdido. Jesús lo hace porque los fariseos y escribas, que orgullosamente se consideran religiosos, “empiezan a quejarse” que Jesús “se reúne con pecadores y además come con ellos”. Jesús les advierte, y a nosotros también, dejar de juzgar a los demás. Por el contrario, ¡asómbrate de la extraordinaria gracia de Dios que nos ha encontrado! De hecho, debemos hacernos los amorosos amigos de Jesús tratando de buscar a otros. Así el Éxodo pide, si Dios “cedió en castigo” y nos perdonó, ¿no deberíamos per-donar con gracia a nuestros prójimos pecadores? Incluso Pablo admite su “arrogancia” como “el más importante entre los peca-dores”. Nosotros también, felices de ser “misericordiosamente tratados”, debemos compartir con todos los demás la inagotable paciencia de Jesús.

LOST AND FOUND Welcome to “Lost and Found Sunday”! Just in case being in church makes us proudly consider ourselves especially reli-gious, today’s Gospel suggests that we’d be wiser to admit that we’re sometimes lost. Then we’ll eventually be happily count-ed among Jesus’ “found,” because today Jesus focuses on a lost sheep, lost coin, lost son. Jesus does so because the Phari-sees and scribes, proudly considering themselves especially religious, “began to complain” that Jesus “welcomes sinners and eats with them.” So Jesus warns them—and us—to stop judging others. Marvel instead that God’s amazing grace has found us! Indeed, we should become Jesus’ friends lovingly trying to find others. So Exodus asks, if God “relented in punishment” and pardoned us, shouldn’t we forgive fellow sinners graciously? Even Paul admits his “arrogance” as “foremost among sinners.” We too, happy at being “mercifully treated,” should share with everyone else Je-sus’ unfailing patience.

DID YOU KNOW? Safety tips for kids playing sports this school year

Sports seasons star early, even for young children, and while it’s great they re getting exercise and learning new skills, safety is still a top priority. It’s recommended that all children who are playing school sports have an annual physical and relative health information (allergies conditions, etc...)shared with coaches. Parents should make sure their children have the right gear, and that it fits and works well. Children should stay well-hydrated, well-fed, and well-rested to keep up their energy and strength. Student athletes should be learning to be kind and fair, too, no matter the outcome of the game.
