Join us in solidarity with the People of Hondu-

ras against the the continued political killings,

human rights violations and environmental

exploitation that has been driven by an inter-

nationally coordinated military coup since 28th

June 2009.

Outraged by these ongoing abuses, friends frommany parts of the world converged in Bajo Agu-an, Honduras in February this year to declarethat 28 June 2012 would be the InternationalDay of Solidarity With Honduras. In Bajo Aguanalone there have been more than 50 farmersassassinated for their resistance against thecoup in their fight for land rights.

Honduras is now seen as the murder capitalof the world, the persecution of the Honduranpeople is not slowing down. In the past monththere has been a surge in the frequency of po-litical killings.

This is an invitation to participate as a commu-nity in solidarity with Hondurans resisting thecontinuation of a brutal internationally coor-dinated military coup and honour those resist-ers that have been murdered in the past monthamong the many that have gone before them.

WE REMEMBER

1 May 2012: A young Indigenous Lenca man,SANTOS RODRGUEZ, was killed in his home.

2 May 2012: Singer and unionist (Sitraunah),RIGOBERTO MATUTE, was run over and killed.

3 May 2012: University lecturer and unionist

(Sitraunah), MIGUEL BARAHONA, assassinated byhitmen.

5 May 2012: LGBTI human rights activist, journalistand aspiring candidate, ERICK MARTNEZ (32), wentmissing on 5 May and was found dead on a highwaykerb 2 days later.

8 May 2012: Community leader from CholomaCorts, and sympathiser of the resistance party,EDILBERTO SOLANO, was assassinated by hitmen ona motorcycle.

11 May 2012: Massacre of INDIGENOUS MISKITOPEOPLE by gunfire from U.S. State Department

titled helicopters that the US government confirmscarried U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration(DEA) agents and security contractors. Fourwere killed (CHALO WITOLD, EMERSON MARTNEZ,CANDELARIA PRAT NELSON & JUANA JACKSON)including two pregnant women, a 14-year-old boyand a 21-year-old man, while at least four morewere seriously injured.

16 May 2012: An organised farmer, JUAN JOSPERALTA (60), of the Maraones MUCA settlementwas riddled with bullets by palm oil giantFacusss (and known oligarchy) security guards.

18 May 2012: An organised farmer, JOS DEL CID(41), also of the Maraones MUCA settlement wasshot and killed by unidentified persons.

20 May 2012: Resistance activist who was involvedwith leftist parties, el Pollito (dear littlechicken) JESS PINEDA (55) was shot by unknownhitmen

31 May 2012: An organised farmer ERICK RIVERA(40), previously of Maraones, was shot dead byunknown persons despite being with a bodyguard.
