Pattern Techniques: Knit, Purl, Purling stitches together, Knitting stitches together Knitting in the round.

Materials: 1 Skein 220 Superwash® Aran, 100% Superwash Merino Wool, 100g (3.5oz) / 150 yds (137.5 m), hat shown in color #900 (Charcoal). 1 - US 8 / 5.0 mm Circular Knitting Needle

4 – US 8 / 5.0 mm DPN Knitting Needles 1 Stitch Marker

Tapestry/Darning Needle

Gauge: 16 sts x 25 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette Stitch

Finished Measurements: One size fits most adults. Approx. 9” h x 18” -20” circumference Abbreviations:

CO = Cast On PM = Place Marker

SM = Slip Marker

K = Knit

P = Purl

P2tog = Purl 2 stitches together

K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together

To Begin:

CO 80 sts. PM. Join in the round, making sure not to twist your stitches.

Rnd 1: *[K1, P1, K1, P2] repeat from * to the end of the round. SM

Rnd 2: *[P2, K3] repeat from * to the end of the round. SM

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until the hat measures 8” (approx. 29 repeats of pattern).

Note:

Decreases – Change to DPN’s when necessary.

Rnd 1: *[K1, P1, K1, P2, K1, P1, K1, p2tog] repeat from * to the end of the round. SM

Rnd 2: *[p2tog, K3, P2, K2] repeat from * to the end of the round. SM

Rnd 3: *[P1, K1, P2, K1, P1, k2tog] repeat from * to the end of the round. SM

Rnd 4: *[k2tog, K2, P2, K1] repeat from * to the end of the round. SM

Rnd 5: *[K1, P2, K1, k2tog] repeat from * to the end of the round. SM

Rnd 6: *[k2tog, K1, P1, K1] repeat from * to the end of the round. SM

Rnd 7: *[P2, k2tog] repeat from * to the end of the round. SM

Remove marker.

Cut yarn, pull through last 8 stitches
