    1 Introduce

4+0 configuration with S340 is actually 2*(2+0) XPIC in a nodal. Four IDUs are

installed in two enclosures, two IDUs in main enclosure build a 2+0 XPIC, and other

two IDUs in expansion enclosure building another 2+0 XPIC.

Now we need reuse the 2+2 XPIC material, we can use the two main enclosures

    build two 2+0 XPIC links!

This configuration guide describes the procedures to make a 2+0 XPCI terminal

working in one enclosure, repeat the same procedures for the IDUs in another

enclosure. The following procedures are related to link configuration, other setting,

link general information, and so on.

The following is the 2+2 to 4+0 manual guide.

    2 The preparation for cutover

    (1) The preparation of the tools and instrumentation, software version and system

    network scheme, etc.

    (2) Check IF cable with corresponding labels! In order to make a distinction between

    polarization and ODU!

    (3) Telnet the IDU, take the capture about the license, protection mode,

MRMC,RSL,XPD,MSE and so on .In order to make sure reach the KPI after the

    cutover to the 4+0.

    (4) Telnet the IDU, check the IP and remark, use the same ip after cutover.

3 The operation of the specific

    3.1 Protection mode

(1)Change two IDUs protection mode in the standby enclosure to disable, and then

change the two IDUs protection mode in the main enclosure to disable. Next step,

    remove the protection cable.

    4+0 Protection Configuration

    3.2 Frequency

(1)Change the standby enclosure IDU V and H frequency to the other frequency

which is scanning frequency result! 2+2 link use the one pair frequency and

4+0(2*(2+0)) use the two pairs frequency.

    3.3 Hybr id Reversal

In order to guarantee same loss, we need to reversal the Hybrid. We can move one

site the IF cable in main enclosure1 to the main enclosure2. Next step, move the IF

cable in main enclosure2 to the main enclosure1. Please find the following picture

about the 2+2 XPCI and 4+0.
