Disciplined Networking: leveraging science
Neurochemisty: Put people at ease up front & ask questions
that are easy to answer.
Chaos theory: Stop thinking linearly and wondering about
“who knows who?”.
6 degrees of separation: Have as many conversations as 6 degrees of separation: Have as many conversations as
possible to “find the right 6”.
Manage the labeling: It’s not what or who you know. It’s

Be genuinely curious. Ask them for their insights, observations.
Don’t try to “steer” the conversation. Be clear on what kind of
opportunities you are interested in, should they ask you.
To close, ask if you can follow up with them. Ask how you can help
them. Follow-up to add them to your network (LinkedIn).
Periodically drip-feed value into your network to stay visible,
relevant.
