There are three types of master data in DP:
Planning master data: BOMs, Routings, Material Masters, and
Resources, that are required to generate supply plans. This data usesthe !" to populate #$P $PO.
B% Master Data: Data required for reporting that relates toharacteristics, such as Te&t, $ttri'utes and (ierarchies. This data uses
B% e&tractors to populate ta'les in #$P $PO.
"orecasting Master Data: Master data specifically for Demand Planning,
called haracteristic )alue com'inations. This data is created in #$P $PODemand Planning and stored in the Planning O'*ect #tructure.
!n regards to Transactional Data, #$P $PO +ill essentially store three
types:
OTP: urrent planning data from your R- system such as #ales
Orders, #toc/, Production-Purchase Orders. This data uses the !" to
populate #$P $PO.
B%: (istorical transactional data on #ales orders,
Production-Purchasing orders for forecasting or $nalysis. This data uses
B% e&tractors to populate !nfou'es in #$P $PO.
