Today we are deeply involved in the con-tinued evolution of new technology for ex-haust products. Our Hushpower brand is a testament to our devotion toward solving new challenges and continuing our legacy of performance products. These newly designed products offer benefits that allow us to reach beyond traditional automotive markets and to offer solutions in entirely new areas. Cur-

rently we offer a wide variety of Hushpower products for commercial or personally op-erated diesel, gasoline-powered trucks, RV’s, muscle cars, street rods and just about any kind of motorized device.

We are especially happy to introduce the release of many of our mufflers and kits in 409S Stainless Steel. We will be continually expanding the products available throughout the year as we have had an overwhelming re-sponse from our customers. I am happy to announce that these fine products will also carry a 10-year Limited Warranty as testa-ment to their enhanced quality.

In an effort to share our experience in ex-haust development with customers requiring specialized products, we created the Special Project Development division. No matter what the application, our Special Project De-velopment division can evaluate and produce a product to meet the requirements for your application by applying the knowledge and skills we have gained over the past three de-cades.

IT’S WHATS IN THE CASETHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

Flowmaster and Hushpower mufflers are

the result of extensive scientific research and

real world testing. Flowmaster products deliver

improved horsepower, torque, fuel efficiency

and throttle response. In many cases our pat-

ented muffler designs can actually flow more

air than an open pipe. This is accomplished by

“scavenging” the exhaust gases from the cylin-

ders by creating a slight “low pressure” on the

exhaust side of the engine. By creating a low

pressure the cylinder has less residual burnt

gases in the cylinder and thus can have a more

complete burn of the fuel that is introduced

into it. This simply means that more power can

be made by the engine. Flowmaster and Hush-

power mufflers both contain patented technol-

ogy which makes it possible to have greater fuel

efficiency!

83 First design of Flowmaster chambered mufflers are introduced in Sprint car racing in Northern California. To make it easier to carry around at racetracks, Ray attaches a handle on the muffler which quickly gets attention and is nick-named by racers, the “Suitcase Muffler.”

1989

The second design of the quieter three chamber is born. It is called the 50 series and incorporates a “Tuning Chamber” that removes some of the interior resonance that is common with the two chamber 20 series™. That same year, the second design of the “two chamber” muffler is introduced and replaces the 20 series. It is named the 40 series.

1991 Scavenger D-port collector technology introduced as “two into one” Y-collectors and also

as a header collector replacement with the four-two-one header collector that was developed & tested in numerous forms of racing, including teams racing in the NASCAR Winston Cup circuit.

1993 The third design three chamber 50 Series is released. The technology is named the Pressure Buster

line of mufflers. They have increased scavenging over the previous designs and an improved resonance chamber.

1999

Flowmaster’s “Delta Flow” technology is introduced into all series of Flowmaster muf-flers. It decreases sound and increased scavenging in the mufflers. The fourth design of the three chamber 50 Series also incorporates an improved Two-Stage Tuning Chamber design that removes most all interior resonance from the vehicle.

2002 Using technology developed at racetracks, Flowmaster releases our most powerful street muffler to date,

the Super 40 Series muffler. Packaged in a larger case, with an improved Delta Flow design that has a deeper sound.

The Hushpower HP-2 street line of mufflers are introduced. They are available in a compact T304 or T409 stainless steel case and quickly become very popular.

Hushpower develops the PRO Series line of mufflers for everything from race applications, light, medium, heavy duty gas, diesel trucks, buses, industrial applications and more.

Flowmaster launches extensive lineup of 409S Stainless Steel performance products covered by a 10-year warranty. In an addition Flowmaster debuts it’s Special Project Development division to create unique, one-of-a-kind custom parts – the solution for hard to fit, totally specialized muffler design problems.

Flowmaster is inducted into the inaugural Hot Rod Magazine “Speed Parts Hall Of Fame”, as one of the most significant automotive parts of all time. Flowmaster also introduces the Super 44 muffler in to its line. The Super 44 adds greater flow and a deeper aggressive tone in a 4.00” case.

The 10 Series Race Mufflers are a compact lightweight single chamber design that will net a no-ticeable sound reduction vs open headers without sacrificing valuable and hard earned horsepower. They are available in three compact case sizes, ranging from 3.00”, 4.00” & 5.00” inches tall, with inlet and outlet sizes ranging from 2.50” up to 4.00”, and in two inlet and outlet con-figurations. Direct to header applications: The Scavenger Series Race Mufflers feature Flowmaster’s patented Delta Flow™ technology. Designed to attach directly to the ex-haust header primary tubes, replacing the collector on sprint and drag racing ap-plications. The Flowmaster Low Profile Race Mufflers incorporate the same race proven technol-ogy from Flowmasters “Delta Force” race line, but in a very thin compact case to fit under full floor pan race cars.

The Flowmaster Outlaw Series Race Mufflers are our smallest and light-est race mufflers to date. When attached directly to the collector, it gener-ally produces more power than open headers, while taking the “edge” off that open header sound. Flowmaster Collectors are “Primary Tube Length Sensitive” and will require experimenta-tion to maximize your particular engine combination. It is suggested that you always start with a longer primary tube and work your way back to the optimum tube length.Note: As with any performance-enhancing products, tuning is advisable. The exact primary tube length for your engine may or many

not be the same as above , but the chart to the above will get you pretty close.

Flowmaster’s unique, pat-ented Scavenger Se-ries “C” Collector is founded on the principle of PULSE TECHNOLOGY. The large “D-shaped” ports in the Scavenger Series Collectors cre-ate a larger surface area to help pull the exhaust pulses from the opposing connected cylinders. This creates a cleaner burn for the incoming fuel and air resulting in an increased and broader torque curve, putting more power in the rpm range were you need it most. After all, its torque that moves your vehicle.

Our Scavenger Turndowns mount directly to our Scavenger Series race mufflers and are high-ly recommended for even greater

sound reduction.

Flowmaster’s “Y” Collec-tors utilize the same pat-ented PULSE TECHNOLOGY as our Scavenger Series “C” collectors, but are designed to be used to maximize a “two into one” single exhaust system. Whether it’s your race-car, tow vehicle or RV, the Scavenger “Y” collectors will make sure you’re get-ting maximum power from your engine. Sizes range from dual 2.00” inlets up to dual 3.50” inlets, with outlet sizes ranging from a single 2.50” up to a single massive 5.00” outlet.

Our Scavenger Series X-Pipe Kits mount ahead of the mufflers in the center of the vehicle (in place of a traditional H-pipe) and can provide significant torque improve-ments along with a smooth distinctive tone. Utilizing our patented Scavenger D-Port technology, these easy to fit kits function exceptionally well on modified GM, Ford, Mo-par “Muscle Car” applica-tions while maintaining the classic Flowmaster sound. Available in Direct-fit kits as well as Universal kits in a variety of sizes.

Flowmaster’s patented Scavenger Series Technology improves the exhaust cycle and scavenging efficiency of the cylinders combustion chambers. This results in a cleaner burn during the power cycle netting an overall increase in performance. The Scavenger Series technology does this by utilizing the energy contained in the engines exhaust pulses to help scavenge alternating pulses, in turn maximizing the engines efficiency. These pulses are comprised of burned and unburned gases, heat and sound, and can be thought of as a mass of leftover energy traveling down the pipe. When the exhaust valve opens, the pulse begins traveling through the exhaust port. When the exhaust valve suddenly closes, a low pressure area is created behind the pulse. In traditional collector designs these exhaust pulses are essentially dumped into a large volume tube where a great deal of their energy is wasted or lost. The Scavenger Series technology pairs tubing from the headers, or the exhaust system, into slightly larger tubes that incorporate “D-shaped ports” and then joins them into a single larger tube. This allows the pulse to remain sealed against the outer wall of the tube and thereby maintains the low pressure behind it. The low pressure area is then “seen” by the paired tube or cylinder where it will actually help scavenge, or pull, the following pulse through. This cycle is continually repeated as the engine progresses through its firing order. The process can be so effective that in many cases the increased efficiency may require a fuel jetting change to avoid a lean condition as a result of the increase in cleaner air now in the cylinders; which means more power.

The Flowmaster Super 50 Se-ries (SUV) Muffler incorporates the 5.00”x10.00” case size with the technology from the 50 Series Delta Flow muffler. Made for all SUV’s and large displacement engine vehicles, the Super 50 Series larger case size allows for optimum exhaust flow, increased mileage, and reduced in-terior resonance. Also excellent for use on full-sized, high performance street cars looking to reduce inte-rior resonance and tone levels for everyday driving.

The 70 Series Big Block II Muf-fler uses a longer 5.00”x10.00” case for increased volume and added sound reduction that will still fit many applications that our wider 50 Series Big Block muffler won’t fit. It utilizes Flowmaster’s patented Delta Flow Technol-ogy for maximum efficiency and minimum interior resonance. The 70 Series mufflers are perfect for high performance street cars, most trucks, SUV’s, RVs and tow vehicles that require quiet operation with improved sound.

The 50 Series Big Block Muf-fler is our largest and quietest muf-fler made for tow vehicles, full-size trucks, large SUV’s and RV’s / Mo-torhomes. This muffler is made for more than just big cubic inch engine applications and has a very large Resonance Tuning Cham-ber to almost completely reduce interior resonance in large cab ve-hicles and enough case volume to handle engines under heavy loads. Significant improvements in mileage, torque, and horsepower are to be expected from this muffler, as well as decreased engine heat and wear.

The 50 Series Heavy Duty

Muffler is appropriately named, a

tough customer just like the trucks it

was designed for. With 4.00” internal

components and 5.00”x10.00” case

size, these mufflers help to signifi-

cantly increase mileage, torque, and

horsepower while greatly improving

towing power and acceleration. The

50 Series Heavy Duty is great for

all gas and diesel applications, and

late-model trucks used in the most

extreme working conditions.

Greatly reduced interior resonance, smaller case size, and moderate exterior tone are just some of the benefits to the 50 Series Delta Flow Mufflers. With a specially designed Resonance Tuning Cham-ber, the 50 Series Delta Flow gives all the performance, while reducing the tone inside and outside of your vehicle. The Hushpower HP-2 Performance Muffler is a real hot rod muffler that

applications. Built from either T409 or T304 stainless steel, this smooth,

stylish muffler can be polished or coat-

ed for a great looking finish. The HP-2

muffler is designed for use with street

rods, customs, lowriders and sport

trucks or industrial applications where

heat control and space are an issue.

The HP-2 mufflers feature an innovative

“Cool Shell” casing, a key feature in

contributing to the muffler’s sound and

heat control design. Advanced “flow”

technology produces broadband sound

cancellation for a rich ‘50’s tone. The

HP-2 mufflers use a 4.00” X 5.50” X

18.00” case and can be ordered with

inlet/outlet diameters including 2.00”,

2.25” and 2.50”.

Our Special Projects Division also offers a variety of “Specialty Mufflers” for a range of vehicles where tradi-tional mufflers are too large and smaller, purpose built mufflers are required. Flowmaster’s line of Force II Exhaust Systems are designed to let folks you know you’ve got a Flowmaster system under your

vehicle when you “open it up”, but don’t want a lot of interior resonance. The Force II system provides plenty of “Flowmaster Sound”

under acceleration but lower sound levels while cruising, it may just be the perfect system for you.

All Flowmaster exhaust systems are designed with the latest technology to provide even better performance

than a Flowmaster muffler alone. Flowmaster’s systems will improve acceleration and passing power as well as

Single Rear Exit (SOR) and Single Side Exit (SOS) Exhaust SystemsThese systems are for the person who wants a subdued but custom look with all the benefits of a Flowmaster exhaust system. They feature mandrel bent 16-gauge aluminized steel tubing, either weld-on or flanged inlet pipe/pipes, specially tuned muffler, clamps, hangers and stainless steel exhaust tip exiting in the factory location either under the bumper, or through the valance at the rear of the vehicle (SOR) or out the side (SOS) behind the rear tires.

True Dual Exhaust SystemsTrue Dual exhaust systems are built with maximum performance in mind. These systems feature mandrel bent tubing, specially tuned mufflers, weld-on or flanged cross-over pipes, clamps, hang-ers, mounting hardware and stainless steel tips that complete that custom installation for that performance look and sound.

Dual Rear Exit (DOR) and Dual Side Exit (DOS) Exhaust SystemsThe D.O.R. systems are designed for the person who wants that custom look of a dual exhaust on a late model vehicle that came with a factory single exhaust. These systems feature mandrel bent 16-gauge aluminized steel tubing, either weld-on or flanged inlet pipe/pipes, a specially tuned muffler, clamps, hangers and stainless steel exhaust tips for that aggressive look and sound of a dual exhaust system. Our Dual Side Exit systems are recommended for towing applications.

Muscle Truck Exhaust Systems (DOSS)The D.O.S.S. systems are designed to give your late model truck the custom look of a NASCAR race truck. These “Muscle Truck” systems feature mandrel bent tubing custom bent to fit your vehicle, either weld-on or flanged inlet pipe/pipes, specially tuned muffler, clamps, hangers and stainless steel exhaust tips exiting in front of the rear wheel for that look and sound of a dual exhaust race vehicle.

Axle-Back SystemsAxle-Back exhaust systems generally apply to vehicles which utilize rear mounted mufflers. These kits also leave the factory-delivered emissions control equipment in place and add a performance-tuned muffler, short tubing section and exhaust tip to the exhaust system. Designed to bolt on or weld up to the factory tubing, most kits require only slip-on clamps to attach, and use factory hanger mount locations. The net result is increased exhaust system efficiency, lower exhaust backpressure, more horsepower and torque, better throttle response and a much better performance tone, while still retaining the emissions legality of the vehicle.

EXHAUST CONFIGURATIONS

Cat-Back Systems Cat-Back exhaust systems leave the factory-delivered emissions control equip-ment in place and add specially-designed exhaust pipes and performance mufflers after the catalytic converter to complete the exhaust system. The net result is increased exhaust system efficiency, lower exhaust backpressure, more horsepower and torque, better throttle response and a much better performance tone, while still retaining the emissions legality of the vehicle.

Some systems offer a combination option that gives you

the choice of Dual Rear Exit or Dual Side Exit in one.

Troy’s leap into car building began in 1986 when his grandfather gave him a 1966

Chevelle to “fix up.” In 1990, he took that car to the DuQuoins Street Machine Na-

ence, he redid his Chevelle shortly thereafter with a unique blend of ideas. He called

it Pro Box and it was a huge hit . . . and launched a new company.

Rad Rides by Troy was established in 1995 as a father and son business that has

become a team builder, employing a close-knit group of skilled fabricators, mechan-
