Note: As the pictures in the service literature are used formore than one variant, some details can differ to thevehicle you are working with. The essential information inthe illustrations is, however, always correct.

Removal

1Raise the cab.

WARNING

Make sure that the parking brake has been appliedand that neutral gear is selected.

2Remove all electrical power by switching off the mainswitch. Then disconnect the batterys negative pole.

3Clean carefully around the feed pump.

4Open the fuel tank filler cap to equalize pressure in the

fuel lines.

Remove the fuel line(1).

Note: Protect the ends from dirt. Plug open ends.

6Remove the feed line(2).

7Cut the cable ties(3). Move the wiring to one side.

8Remove the feed pump (4).

9Wipe up any spilled fuel.

Remove the camshaft sensor from the engine.

11Check and clean contact surfaces.

Installation

Fit the new camshaft sensor using a new screw andO-ring.

Fit the fuel feed pump (4).

Note: Use a new gasket.

14Refit the wiring(3). Use new clamps.

15Fit the feed line with new sealing washers (2). Torquetighten in accordance with Function Group 20, Informationtype Specifications, Specifications.

16Fit the fuel line(1).

17Wipe up any spilled fuel.

18Replace the fuel tank cap.

19Connect the negative cable and switch on the mainelectrical power.

20Bleed the fuel system in accordance with FunctionGroup 2309, Information type Repair, 23003-3 Fuelsystem, bleeding.

21Warm up the engine and perform a functional checkregarding possible leaks. Rectify any fault codes.

WARNING

Make sure the parking brake is applied and neutral isselected when starting the engine with the cab tilted.

22Lower the cab.
