! We prepare ourselves for Pentecost, the descent of the Holy Spirit, and the culmination of our Easter celebration. It is the 50th and last day of the Easter Season wherein we celebrate baptism, first communion, and confirmation. It is that same Spirit of God that teaches us what we are to do, the Spirit, guides, helps, consoles, challenges, and animates us. The love of the Father and the Son is the glue that connects us to each other and to God, as a community of persons, unique, noble, and free. We overflow with creative love that sacrifices itself for the good of the other, but most especially for those who are most vulnerable among us. We cry out: Come Holy Spirit, enkindle in us the fire of your love!

La voz del amor creativo persiste en nuestros corazones y nos llama a avanzar, como el Maestro, a continuar echando nuestras redes a las aguas de la vida. Cuando nos damos vuelta hacia el alcohol o por la borrachera del Internet, oímos las palabras: ¿Me amas? ¡Alimenta a mis corderos! La necesidad es más grande que nunca para que las personas de fe y buena voluntad sean luz, a llenar el vacío, el caos del cual el Espíritu originalmente se cernía en el libro de Génesis. El Señor Jesús resucitado nos llama nuevamente: ¡Sígueme! Yo soy el camino.

Nos preparamos para Pentecostés, el descenso del Espíritu Santo y la culminación de nuestra celebración de Pascua. Es el día 50 y último de la temporada de Pascua en donde celebramos el bautismo, la primera comunión y la confirmación. Es el mismo Espíritu de Dios que nos enseña lo que debemos hacer, el Espíritu, nos guía, ayuda, nos consuela, nos desafía y nos anima. El amor del Padre y del Hijo es el pegamento que nos une entre sí y con Dios, como una comunidad de personas, únicas, nobles y libres. Nos desbordamos con un amor creativo que se sacrifica por el bien del otro, pero especialmente por aquellos que son más vulnerables entre nosotros. Gritamos: Ven, Espíritu Santo, ¡enciende en nosotros el fuego de tu amor!
