When, where and why: Work to remove a number of trees along George Street, between Mary and Margaret streets, will occur from 7pm on Thursday 29 December until 5am Friday 30 December 2016. This work is necessary to support the relocation of electrical services ahead of demolition of the non‑heritage buildings early next year. When the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane integrated resort development is complete, trees will be replanted as part of the landscape masterplan. What to expect: To maintain a safe work area, some lane closures will be necessary however traffic control will be in place. Equipment used will include chainsaws, shredders, and tree grinders.
