BLOOD DRIVE. Saint Matthew Catholic Church and LifeSouth Community Blood Centers will sponsor a blood drive in the area near Our Lady of

Victory Catholic School on Sunday, August 25, 2019 from 9:00AM to 2:00PM. The Knights of Columbus will conduct preliminary signups in the church narthex after masses on 17, 18, and 24. Please consider being a donor.

Stewardship of TIME is a very precious gift.

We often say that we don’t have time for this or that. When it comes to being a good steward of time, the key question is: What do we make time for?

Everyone is given the same amount of time, 24 hours each day, 168 hours each week. God’s question to us is: How do we choose to use our time? To what extent do we squander TIME watching senseless TV shows? To what extent do we use excessive amounts of time on recreation? To what extent do we use time to foster our relationship with God or to volunteer in some ministry that blesses others? I

would like to suggest spending one hour of our time each week in our Adoration Chapel. It is an excellent way for us to use one of the 168 hours of the week. I would even ad-vocate that every retired person in our parish should do this. You have the time. Come spend an hour with Jesus and pray for all those families who are stressed out with hectic lifestyles, pray for peace in our world, pray for Cath-olics who no longer come to Mass, pray for your own spir-itual transformation.

What a wonderful way to use the gift of time. Those of you who don’t have the physical capacity to do volunteer work should know that you can play a very valuable role in the life of the parish by your persistent prayers.

Our Church recognizes that every success with the parishes is achieved through unrelenting prayer by good and faith-ful people. So older people or homebound parishioners ought NEVER to feel useless. Your hours of prayer are of infinite value to the mission of the church and parish. Us-ing some of our TIME to volunteer is another way of being a good steward. So many of you already do that. If you have not volunteered and have a desire to do so but are not sure what you should volunteer for, I suggest you: seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit : talk to active volunteers speak with any of the ministry leaders or call the office.

STEWARDSHIP OF TIME CORRESPONSABILIDAD DE TIEMPO

La mayordomía del TIEMPO es un regalo muy valioso.

A veces decimos que no tenemos tiempo para esto o aque-llo. Cuando se trata de ser un buen administrador del tiem-po, la pregunta clave es: ¿para qué hacemos tiempo?

Todos tienen la misma cantidad de tiempo, 24 horas al día, 168 horas a la semana. La pregunta de Dios para nosotros

es: ¿Cómo elegimos usar nuestro tiempo? ¿En qué medida desper-diciamos el TIEMPO viendo pro-gramas de televisión sin sentido? ¿En qué medida pasamos dema-siado tiempo en la recreación? ¿En qué medida pasamos tiempo fomentando nuestra relación con Dios o siendo voluntarios en un ministerio que bendice a otros?

Me gustaría sugerir pasar una hora de nuestro tiempo cada semana en nuestra Capilla de Adoración. Es una excelente manera de utilizar una de las 168 horas de la semana. Incluso recomendaría que cada persona jubilada en nuestra parroquia haga esto. Tienes tiempo Ven a pasar una hora con Jesús y ora por todas aquellas familias que están estresadas con estilos de vida agitados, ora por la paz en nuestro mundo, ora por los cató-licos que ya no vienen a misa, ora por tu propia transforma-ción espiritual.

Qué maravillosa manera de usar el don del tiempo. Aquellos de ustedes que no tienen la capacidad física para hacer tra-bajo voluntario deben saber que pueden desempeñar un papel muy valioso en la vida de la parroquia con sus oracio-nes persistentes.

Nuestra Iglesia reconoce que cada éxito con las parroquias se logra a través de la oración implacable de personas bue-nas y fieles. Por lo tanto, las personas mayores o los feligre-ses confinados en su hogar NUNCA deberían sentirse inúti-les. Sus horas de oración son de valor infinito para la misión de la iglesia y la parroquia. Usar parte de nuestro TIEMPO para ser voluntario es otra forma de ser un buen adminis-trador. Muchos de ustedes ya lo hacen. Si no se ha ofrecido como voluntario y desea hacerlo, pero no está seguro de para qué debe ser voluntario, le sugiero que busque la guía del Espíritu Santo: hable con voluntarios activos, hable con cualquiera de los líderes del ministerio o llame a la oficina.
