History

• The Fox Film Corporation was formed by William Fox in 1915.

• Twentieth Century Pictures was an independent Hollywood motion picture production company created by Joseph Scheneck in 1933.

• These two companies agreed to a merger and began trading as The Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation in 1935.

Animation

• 20th Century Fox Animation is the animation division of 20th Century Fox which was created in 1997, before this the Fox Animation Studios were responsible for many of 20th Century Fox films.

• Fox also owns Blue Sky Studios, a computer animation company, from which they have had much more success than the 20th Century Fox Animation, with the box office receipts of their films being highly competitive with the work of Pixar and DreamWorks.
