It’s been said that great things come from small beginnings.

Our small beginning took place in 1994, when the Oklahoma Caring Foundation was established with the mission to provide Oklahomans access to preventive health services. For 25 years, the Foundation has worked to improve the health of Oklahomans one child at a time.

That small beginning allowed the Foundation to grow its programs to create the signature Oklahoma Caring Van Program in 1999, which now includes nine Caring Vans and provides services such as immunizations, dental services and health screenings. For the past 20 years, this unique mobile program has eliminated the barriers of cost, lack of transportation and restrictive clinic hours to serve children where they spend their days.

In 2019, we can proudly say that our impact on Oklahoma became great, as we celebrated providing more than 212,000 underserved children with over 356,000 vaccinations, since the beginning of the Caring Van Program.

In September, the 16th Annual Champions of Health Gala honored individuals and organizations who implemented innovative programs in their communities to help Oklahomans live healthy lives. The nearly 500 gala attendees raised funds for the Oklahoma Caring Foundation and welcomed boxer and Olympic Gold Medalist, Sugar Ray Leonard, as the featured speaker.

We may have started from small beginnings, but with the right tools — guidance from our board, dedicated staff and generous supporters — we have planted a brighter future.

It’s been said that great things come from small beginnings.

Our small beginning took place in 1994, when the Oklahoma Caring Foundation was established with the mission to provide Oklahomans access to preventive health services. For 25 years, the Foundation has worked to improve the health of Oklahomans one child at a time.

That small beginning allowed the Foundation to grow its programs to create the signature Oklahoma Caring Van Program in 1999, which now includes nine Caring Vans and provides services such as immunizations, dental services and health screenings. For the past 20 years, this unique mobile program has eliminated the barriers of cost, lack of transportation and restrictive clinic hours to serve children where they spend their days.

In 2019, we can proudly say that our impact on Oklahoma became great, as we celebrated providing more than 212,000 underserved children with over 356,000 vaccinations, since the beginning of the Caring Van Program.

In September, the 16th Annual Champions of Health Gala honored individuals and organizations who implemented innovative programs in their communities to help Oklahomans live healthy lives. The nearly 500 gala attendees raised funds for the Oklahoma Caring Foundation and welcomed boxer and Olympic Gold Medalist, Sugar Ray Leonard, as the featured speaker.

We may have started from small beginnings, but with the right tools — guidance from our board, dedicated staff and generous supporters — we have planted a brighter future.

We are grateful for your long-standing support of our mission and we look forward to the opportunity to improve the health of Oklahomans for the next 25 years!
