Cambridge High School Junior+ Class
Our students are entering a different world to that of their parents with new job and
learning opportunities. The Junior+
(plus) Class is an initiative for students who wish to be
involved in a mainstream class, while also extended in their passion project of their choice.
This class is suitable for motivated students who wish to be challenged and are good self-
managers.
As this is a mainstream class, students will also attend option subjects.
Four teachers from across the four core subjects to form our Junior+
teaching team. They
have been selected for their abilities to support and inspire all learners to follow their
passion.
The Junior+
Class is designed to help develop 21st Century learners and life ready
individuals and focuses on the following areas of deep learning:
❑ Character
❑ Citizenship
❑ Communication
❑ Collaboration
❑ Creativity
❑ Critical thinking
❑ Cultural responsiveness
AssessmentStudents will be assessed against the same English, Mathematics, Science and Social
Studies curriculum objectives as those in mainstream courses. The way they are assessed
may be different with a focus on innovative ways of demonstrating learning. All students
will maintain a portfolio of evidence as part of the four courses.
Use of technologyAll students in Cambridge High School are required to have a digital device to enhance
their learning. Innovative use of technology will be a key feature of the Junior+
Class.

As with each of our Junior classes, students in the Junior+ Class will still take English, Maths, Science and Social Studies.
The extension aspect of the Junior+ Class comes through the student's passion project which they will complete
throughout the year.
To be successful in the Junior+ Class students are expected to:
- Maintain a positive attitude to learning.
- Be adaptable, flexible, and open to new ways of learning.
- Take risks and be willing to learn from mistakes.
- Complete all schoolwork to the best of their ability and to challenge themselves through their project.
- Work co-operatively and collaboratively with others when appropriate.
- Work independently when required and be self-motivated.
- Support learning for all, showing respect for different viewpoints or ways of thinking.
I agree to making the commitment to participate fully in the Junior+
Class.

MY PASSION PROJECT PROPOSALS
Please identify three potential passion project ideas that you would be interested in
completing next year. It is important that you give information about how you think
these projects could be carried out during the allocated class time, what materials or
resources you would need and what your intended outcome would be for each. The
strength and clarity of your information will help in making the decision as to which
projects are most appropriate for this class.
