The New Truck Configurator from MAN

Below is an overview with a description of the main functions.

…or, like today, after selecting the button of the scope ofdelivery in the vehicle list. The configurator will open theconfiguration of this vehicle. Then select the configurator.

You can open the new configurator … via the Menue. You‘ll select the left Icon after introducing a Target deliverydate.

What do you want to do in the C4S: View the configuration of a third party



You need a MAN code and the Target delivery date on which the code was saved. The target delivery date calls up the data valid at that time.

To open the configurator, enter the date in the mask on the left and the MAN code in the configurator.

What do you want to do in the C4S: Calling up a Guided Selling vehicle



Call the configurator with a date on which all variants of the new TG should be available. The target delivery date calls up the data valid at that time. Would you key in e.g. August 2020, the selection couldn’t get an all-wheel drive vehicle that is only available from December 2020 on.

To call the configurator, enter in the mask for example, the date 12/31/2021. Then select "Guided Selling" there.

What do you want to do in the C4S: Save and edit your own configuration



To do this, you should first save a configuration in the "My templates" area.

You can do this if you select and save the "Save as template" button in a configuration.

You can call up this configuration again in the "My Templates" area with the Edit icon (pen). If you create a copy of your template (document), the target delivery date entered in the ABBI for the start will be drawn.

Flexible and modular product range

The modular structure is made possible by rules which define all mandatory and prohibited combinations for equipment items. The rules permanently check your current configuration in the background and guarantee that it is automatically consistent in C4S at all times.

New code designations and numbering in the rules. The search function in C4S helps you to find specific equipment items.

For each equipment item and thus for each code, there is now an equivalent as a Without code, e.g. Without roof spoiler.

The rules also contain Without codes for corresponding calculations that you do not need as a user and are therefore not relevant for the application. These can be simply hidden in C4S by means of a filter

A Base Truck corresponds to the market-specific minimum standard defined by the national product management.

You cannot go below this minimum standard and you can build your configuration up from this starting point by further specifying and equipping the vehicle.

A Base Truck is drivable, complete and capable of registration at all times in the configurator.

A Reference Truck is an industry-specific vehicle that is ready for operation (“ready for sale”) that takes into account market-specific requirements.

You can perform configuration both up and down (to the minimum standard) from this starting point by adding or removing equipment items.

A Reference Truck is also drivable, complete and capable of registration at all times in the configurator.

If a MAN code is not called up again for 60 months, it will be automatically deleted.This period starts again from the beginning each time a MAN code is called up and changed.

The product grid is comparable with a structured table of contents of all VCodes (primarily functional assignment of equipment)It is divided into the following areas:

You can create templates for vehicles that you sell very frequently, for example

Everyone can see only their own personal templates here and not those of colleagues


Creating a personal template


Saving the current configuration as a template

You can save a current configuration as a personal template by clicking on “Save as template”

You can assign a name to your template by free text input

A confirmation will be displayed after clicking on “Ok”

The template will then be listed under “My templates”


Designation of the template (name) can be freely chosen,

e.g. standard vehicles for customers or variant

Opening a configuration after a rules update


Automatic repair

If you open a configuration (MAN code) after a rules update, an information message will be displayed

After you click on “Ok”, C4S will automatically adapt your configuration to the new rules

In the sidebar, you can track in the “Recent changes” tab what has changed in your configuration due to the adaptation to the new rules


The rules (master data) are updated on a quarterly basis.This is an automated process which takes place in the background
