A Note From Us
If there was one constant in 2020, it was change. Like most of you, we adjusted to working from home, shifted our events to virtual programming, and focused on supporting our alumni from afar. We have been extraordinarily grateful for your friendship and understanding during this time.
January 1, 2021 marked the 75th anniversary of Cleary Gottlieb and we had grand plans of announcing alumni gatherings throughout the year around the globe. However, the ongoing threat of COVID-19 has required us to reimagine our celebrations. We hope that you will participate in one of the activities at the end of this publication and encourage you to keep an eye out for additional events and opportunities. You can enjoy the festivities by following our programming and spotlights on social media through #ClearyGottliebAlumni.
Amidst all of these changes, we remain here to support you – reconnecting you with Cleary lawyers, introducing you to alumni in your industry or geography, assisting with career transitions, and helping you find great talent for your teams. Please continue to keep in touch with us until we can be together in person again.
Cheers and Happy New Year,

Alumni Updates
75th Anniversary of Cleary GottliebWe would like to highlight our alumni and their post‑Cleary journeys as a part of Cleary’s 75th anniversary celebration in 2021. We hope you will participate by answering one or more of the questions below:
— What lessons did you learn at Cleary that prepared you for your future career?
— What Cleary person and/or experience had a lasting impact on you personally?
— Why do you participate in the alumni network, and what would you say to someone who is considering getting involved?
We will share these stories at various points throughout the year, compiling them in full in next year’s newsletter. We invite you to submit your answers in written or video form by emailing global‑[email protected]. For written answers, we ask that you include your headshot so that we can include the post on our social media channels. We look forward to celebrating this anniversary with our alumni community!
Congratulations to Norma Cirincione on her well‑deserved retirement after more than four decades of faithful service to Cleary Gottlieb. Her influence continues to be felt and we wish her the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure for many years to come!
