Dear Charlotte Christian Community,
There is a great scene found at the end of the book of Deuteronomy. In chapter 34, Moses was summoned by God up Mount Pisgah which overlooked the city of Jericho. From the mountain top God the Father showed Moses all of the Promised Land and reminded him of God’s covenant with Abraham. Imagine the scene. God is showing Moses the long awaited Promised Land, while the Israelite nation waited camped on the other side of the mountain. This huge contingent of people, whose ancestors had been led from Egypt, through the Red Sea, and in victories against numerous foes, were anxiously awaiting their own triumphal entry to the Promised Land. Moses literally stood at an amazing crossroads in history because he was able to look simultaneously at the past and the future. He remembered
where his people came from and imagined where they would go. In 2012, our school community stands at a similar crossroads. We never want to lose sight of God’s provision and protection over the past 62 school years. We are grateful for the way He has providentially led our school through our own trials and tribulations. We also look forward, eagerly anticipating how God will provide for things we cannot even imagine. Our 2020 vision is the result of two years of prayer, planning, and processing. We appreciate all of those who participated in the many focus groups, served on committees, or completed the surveys we sent out. This vision is what we believe to be God’s calling for our school over the next five to eight years. We anticipate that this document will continue to develop over the coming years as our community grows. Our objective is to enable God to work on our campus and to help us become the school of excellence that He desires us to be. Our goal is not to bring praise to our students or administrators, not to amass championships or trophies, but rather bring glory to God the Father through our stewardship of the blessings He has endowed on us. Like Moses, we stand at a crossroads, and I ask that you join us in prayer and support of this plan. As a parent you can partner with us by volunteering on campus and engaging in our community; by participating in the Annual Fund and capital campaign to enhance the educational environment now and in the future; and by sharing the 2020 Strategic Vision for Charlotte Christian with a prospective family and the excitement surrounding your Charlotte Christian experience. God Bless,
Barry GillerHead of School
