2020 Rules and Protocol Test Instructions for Coaches 1.7.2020

All HS-12U coaches must take and pass the NCJLA Rules and Protocol Test for the age group that they are coaching in order to become an NCJLA Certified Coach. These tests focus on annual rules changes from USL and NFHS, along with important NCJLA modifications to those rules. To better prepare coaches to operate with in the NCJLA there are also questions that focus on key protocols and forms that all NCJLA members should be aware of and know how to submit. Completion of the tests by 8U and 10U coaches is optional but highly recommended since these tests will better prepare them for the 2020 NCJLA season. NCJLA coach certification spreadsheets for HS-12U are due Feb 8 and 8U-10U are due March 1.

*Please note coaches must have completed the USL coach membership (background check & Safe Sport Cert.) for 2020 in order to have full access to the USL e-learning resources.

H ow to take and pass the rules test:

Go to https://learning.uslacrosse.org/

● Log In with your US Lacrosse membership information ● Click Catalog

● Select File Folder - Coach & Parent Rule Exams

● Select 2020 NCJLA Rules Exams ( Do NOT click the 2018 USL icons )

● Select Boys or Girls Folder to see the available tests.

● Select Enroll in applicable test

● Select Start Test ● You will receive a certificate once the test has been completed with a passing score and you will receive an

email notification. ● Alert your club administrator that you have taken and passed the test . ● Please note that the club administrator will NOT be able to see your score in the USL database if you have

not designated that Club as one of your organizations in your USL profile. Contact USL member services for assistance with this task.

○ After you have taken the test you will receive an email from USL thanking you for taking the test.

○ Your test results have been recorded. ○ Click Review Test to view your answers. ○ Retake the test as needed, there is no limit for retakes.

● Submit proof of your passing score to your club administrator for annual NCJLA

Coaches Certification. You can download a PDF certificate from your US Lacrosse Learning transcript page. Your club administrator will need to enter the date that you completed and passed on the NCJLA Coach Certification spreadsheet that is due Feb 8 for HS-12U. For 8U and 10U Coaches the test is not required but highly recommended so that clubs know their members are ready to coach in the NCJLA. 8U and 10U Coach Certification spreadsheets are due March 1.
