Between October 9 and October 20, 2020, nine farmers market managers were asked toconduct interviews with as many producers who supported their market as possible. The barriertopics included: labor, policy and regulations, business development, personal factors, and cropand land management (as indicated in preceding pages 11-14). 72 West Virginia farmersparticipated in this survey.

Personal Factors Outliers:- Individuals age/health and concern for their immediate family members; and- Internet and broadband access in rural areas.
No other topics had outlying answers.
Other Highlights from additional conversation comments where a majority of managersexpressed a need for training in these areas:
- Production planning;- Financial planning;- Pest and Disease management; and- Cold storage for post harvest and on-farm use.
All markets had these next steps to complete:- Create a producer focused training plan;- Continue collecting and reporting data metrics; and- Complete the 2020 WV Farmers Market Census.
