2020 Collection Schedule TO THE CURB BEFORE 8:00 am Curbside Collection Guidelines ALL MATERIALS: GARBAGE, RECYCLING & ORGANICS All materials must be at the curbside by 8:00 am on the designated collection day. Please note that carts/bags containing unacceptable materials will not be collected. To report collection concerns, please call Public Works at 250-615-4021 or email [email protected] Garbage Collection Curbside garbage is collected alternating weeks with recycling collection. Garbage is limited to one 240 litre cart per household every second week. If necessary for extra refuse, “Garbage Tags” are available for $2.00 each at any City office. The maximum weight of additional tagged refuse is 22kgs (50lbs) per bag. Cat litter, animal excrement, sawdust, cold ashes, broken glass, and wet refuse must be thoroughly drained, and wrapped in paper or plastic before being placed in the cart. Recycling Collection Curbside recycling is collected alternating weeks with garbage collection. Please visit www.terrace.ca or www.recyclebc.ca for a detailed list of acceptable materials at the curbside and at the depot. There is no limit to recycling placed at curbside, but collection is restricted to recycling materials from the residence. Recycling materials should be placed loosely / directly in the cart. Additional materials shall be placed in transparent (clear) plastic bags beside the cart. For cardboard too large for recycling container, flatten and tie in bundles no larger than 8” thick x 30” wide x 30” tall and place beside recycling containers. Glass, Styrofoam, plastic bags and overwrap are not accepted in curbside recycling. These items can be taken to the local Recycle BC Depot, “Do Your Part Recycling” located at 3467 Hwy 16 East.
