Mr. Henneberg is working with our administration to set up our scrimmage as a TEST RUN with our passes. There has been NO DECISION MADE at this point.. I will get you more information soon.

ACADEMICS – CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

•We will check grades every Tuesday. Any athletes that are carrying a 72% or below in any class will be placed on the Academic Team, and will receive an extra reminder that academics are our first priority. Any athletes that are carrying all A’s and B’s and/or all As, will be recognized on the weekly A/B honor roll, will receive a helmet sticker for academics, and will be recognized on social media as a weekly A/B honor roll member.

•WE ARE LEADERS IN THE CLASSROOM!

NIGHTLY FILM STUDY – HUDL (10-12)

•COACHES GRADE PRACTICE FILM EVERY NIGHT.

•TEAMS MAKE MISTAKES ON THE FIELD, CORRECT THEM MENTALLY IN FILM SESSIONS, AND CORRECT THEM PHYSICALLY THE NEXT DAY..

•OUR GUYS MUST WATCH THE PRACTICE FILM BEFORE THEY GO TO BED.. (IT TAKES 10-15 MINUTES TO WATCH A WHOLE PRACTICE)

• FRESHMEN WILL WATCH AND STUDY THEIR GAME FILM.

GENERAL PARENT MEETING INFORMATION

• Football is a team game. Each member is a part of the team and with that commitment, must be willing to make sacrifices as an individual to be a contributing team member.

•Each and every member of our team has a role in the success of the team, and must understand his role.

•Our coaches are here to teach and coach each and every player to be the best player that they can become. The players are why we do this.

• If a player has a problem he must first approach a coach before we will speak with the parent. What we will always give is honesty.

General Parent meeting information

There are 3 areas that most commonly bother parents:• Playing Time. This is something that is earned in practice and is to be

determined by the coaching staff.

•Other players. I or anyone else on the staff will not talk about other players with you, but I or we will gladly visit about your own.

• Play Calling. This is left up to the staff and is not anything that I, or our staff, will discuss with you.

• If a problem arises… I strongly encourage you to contact me promptly. Often times problems can escalade if left unanswered. The conversation MUST BE by phone or in person. I don’t have time for key board wars.

CHAIN OF COMMAND…•Athlete must first approach a coach•If not resolved – call and set appointment with that coach and me.•Last resort – Meeting with Athlete, Parent, Coach, Head Coach, and Principal/Athletic Director.•THIS IS THE CHAIN OF COMMAND THAT I EXPECT ALL PARENTS, COACHES, AND ATHLETES TO FOLLOW.

24 Hour Rule •There will be no contact with any coach at any level within 24 hours

following any football game to discuss playing time or any other coaching issue. This time period allows parents, athletes, and coaches a chance to reflect.

•Keep in mind – if the issue has been long brewing, that the athlete must first approach a coach before a meeting with the parent is arranged.

COLLEGE RECRUITMENTWhat I will do for our guys:

• I will teach our varsity players how to make individual highlights from each game using Hudl that can be shared through twitter to college coaches and recruitment services.

• I will monitor their GPA and ACT/SAT test scores to help with admission.

• I will share any personal and academic information that is requested by any college coaching staff, or and arrange visits if requested.

• I will socially promote every offer that a player gets. • I will host a signing celebration for every player that signs a college

scholarship, and give them the attention that they deserve.

•CMR players going to college to play football is a true reflection on the success of the program. If our guys desire to play college ball, it is my job to help make that a reality.

COLLEGE RECRUITMENT

What athletes need to do in order to be recruited: (continued on p.7)

•Maintain a good GPA Goal: 3.0•Take SAT and ACT before the end of their junior year•Register for the NCAA/NAIA Clearinghouse•Work hard- in season and off season•Be coachable•Maintain communication with interested colleges

BIGGEST WAY TO SUPPORT OUR PROGRAM.. Support your son. Be a shoulder and an ear. Keep in mind that he will be frustrated with his coaches and the game itself from time to time. Remember that we are here to push him to his fullest potential, which lies just beyond a players breaking point. Encourage him to stick with things, as working hard makes winning easy. (applicable to life)Although not everyone is blessed with natural ability…work ethic is learned.. and is the highest priority in my decision making process.Finally, keep in mind that football is so much more than a game… it teaches life lessons and turns boys into men.
